I visited this shop shortly after I moved to Nashville. Its a nice place, good selection. If I am remembering correctly, though, it was a pain to find the prices for cigars. They werent listed on cigars or boxes and had I found out they had to be looked up at the front. Maybe it isnt always like this, because I would imagine others would complain. I like cigars, but I dont want to try something new and get to the register and find out its too pricey for me. As for this man others are referring to, there was a scene the one time I was in there. He was going back and forth from the humidor and apparently there is a lock on the inside he actived. He never knocked and tried to signal one of us to unlock it. Instead, he smacked the door scaring me and the other guy inside. I just couldnt go back after that. I dont doubt he had a rough day, but we didnt deserve that.

New Owner!!!!! If you havent been to Smoke and Ale since April 2014, by all means, give these new owners a try. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the service is way above par. I have seen some of the reviews from 1, 2, and 3 years ago, and I can tell you, This is NOT the same shop. David and his family go way beyond helpful. I was looking for some accessories for my Bjarne pipe and David did more to try to locate what I was looking for than I would have expected any shop owner to do for such an inexpensive item. David and his family REALLY do appreciate your business, no matter how small it is. So give this place a try, (or a second shot if you had a bad experience with the previous owners), and Im sure you will find it a place you feel welcome and will want to come back to again and again.

Just went there for the first time. They had a nice selection of cigars but the customer service was horrendous and this being the reason I dont go back a second time. I was looking for a certain cigar that I had one time and loved it. They had similar ones but I couldnt find the exact cigar. When I asked the employee if they had what I was looking for he was very rude and kept telling me how he hated that brand of cigar and how terrible it was. Before I finished my next question he answered with a "NO". I asked the person at the front counter another question and received a similar attitude. Didnt hear one hello or see one smile while being there. I would have spent $$$.

By far the most comfortable and welcoming Cigar Lounge in Nashville that I have visited. The other ones I have been in make you feel like they are doing you a favor by letting you in the door. Dave and his family make you feel like you are in you are at friends den having fun. The selection of gars is superb and the prices are way low in comparison with other shops. Always a great selection of beer on tap and in the bottle and top shelf liquor too. Big comfy furniture and great group of people are there. Just a really nice place to relax or even work for a bit on the road. This is what Nashville hospitality is all about. Check it out, you will be glad you did.

I usually buy my cigars via the internet. However today I was in Nashville and decided I would get a few over the counter. I am glad I did. The selection was great. The attentive but not pushy sales advice was perfect. The store is great. Huge selection of nice beers. Also some high class lighters, cutters, etc. I was given a nice discount for my large purchase which wasnt expected, but very much appreciated. So, i would recommend Smoke and Ale to anyone looking to get a few smokes. Great folks there. thank you very much. (I am enjoying one of the cigars as I type and am once again VERY satisfied. thanks. Well run operation. I am a cigar smoker and beer drinker, so I know the selection is excellent and the prices reasonable in this regard. The service is outstanding, the atmosphere is friendly and the entire establishment is clean. I have been to other smoke shops in the area and consider this one the best overall. Excellent place to have a cold draft, indulge in a fine cigar and engage in a conversation. Moreover, watch a football game, or multiple games, on a Sunday afternoon if that is what you seek. I have been there enough times to know the proprietor appreciates all who visit. Highly recommended.

These reviews just make me laugh, have some patience. ive been shopping at smoke and ale in donelson over 5yrs and when they moved to nippers corner on SEPTEMBER 19, 2011 the shop looked so nice and way bigger! you can even DRINK inside now theres a nice lounge and the humidor is WAY bigger! FANTASTIC SERVICE throughout my experience with this shop. WELL DONE.

Great service! I came in there knowing nothing about e-cigarettes and he completely taught me everything from the ground up and how they work. Needless to say I purchased one immediately. Not to mention the sellnn great cigars and awesome craft beers you can drink and smoke in the store. So have your fill..... grade A!

Has been a great place to go for years. However they have moved to a new location and never opened. I was told they would open on labor day so I went to check there new store out. Guess what still closed. So dont go here they have been closed for over a month.

I always like the location and selection but not the previous owner. He didnt know crap about cigars and wasnt very friendly. The new owners are much more friendly and appealing. The only reason that I dont go here more often is because I dont live close.

Awesome place to sit and chill. Great beer great cigars. All the negative reviews are wrong. Youll find friendly staff a huge selection and great prices. I work next door at the applebees and wouldnt change a thing about the place. A must visit!

The best cigar shop around! I love going there for a smoke! The owners are awesome and always make me feel at home. Great place to watch sports. They have a great selection of adult beverages and as well as sodas and other drinks.
