Dear Harbison Mall- On your day off drive to Richland Mall sometime. Thats your future. To be used as a vacant indoor walking track with dim lighting by the elderly. You can avoid this fate by doing the following. Get rid of your kiosks. When I have to speed up and walk faster while very obviously attempting to avoid eye contact with the Kiosk vendors, there is a problem. I was once accosted 3 times in 1 hour by the same girl at the Dead Sea Bath Salts kiosk. After this girl, who was 20 years younger than me blocked my path for the third time, grabbed my hand, and stroked it with lotion, I did the same to her and asked her out on a date. I think she got the message. I shouldnt have to do that however. Deal with Build A Bears information gathering doctrine. When you purchase a bear, it literally takes several minutes to answer all the questions they have, all of course designed to acquire marketing data. Hey Build A Bear! Not my problem. I just wanted to buy a stuffed animal. Not help orient your North American marketing strategy for the next fiscal year. You dont need my telephone number, email, reasons for shopping, blood type, religious affiliation, etc. for me to hand you 20 dollars and walk out the door with a piece of polyester in my hands. The last time I purchased a bear at this location I was in a hurry so I simply handed the check out girl cash and started walking out. I thought she was going to loose her freakin mind! And basically acted like I was stealing since I wouldnt stand there and be interrogated like a cold war spy. And if you are going to hire your own private police force, as has been mentioned elsewhere here, you need to do a little better. Stop harassing young people who hang out there. Thats what teenagers do, which is your primary target demographic. They hang out. Just make sure that who ever you hire isnt the guy in high school who no one liked and now wants to use the power he has at an 8.00 an hour security job to address his personal self worth demons.

My little brother was a regular customer at this mall, and bought all of his clothing from it. Hed been regularly visiting it for over a year, until the manager came up to him when he was with his friends and told him he had to leave for the day. So he walked outside and was waiting for my dad (who was getting something from the car) to come back to pick him up. The manager then came from inside the building to come outside and harass him even more while he waited. The manager told him he had to leave now, or hed ban him for a year, and he said regardless, that if my brother argued with him, hed still ban him for a year. So my brother just asked, "Why are you kicking me out?" and the manager responded with, "alright, so now youre arguing with me, youre banned for a year." And proceeded to call mall security. So my brother just ran to go find my dad and leave. After being a customer for so long, (not to mention spending money and recommending this mall to others) youd expect at least a real answer for being thrown out and banned. There was no real answer. With that said, this is a terrible mall with terribly foolish people running it. What a nice way to kick out the people who are responsible for keeping them employed! :) (My brother was WEARING clothes he bought from the mall when they kicked him out too!) Terrible service and harassment. I do not recommend getting used to shopping here.

Today my granddaughter celebrated her third birthday at Build-a-Bear. A friend took pictures of the party. On our way to the food court after the party moms with strollers, and our photographer friend were stopped by a sales lady who asked if he had permission to shoot the photos. When he said yes, she told him he needed permission from the mall as stores are afraid terrorists might see their window displays. (What the heck?!?) Security came and followed us. Numerous guards come up to us. We told each that we understood and wished to be left alone. He even told them he fought for our countrys freedom and was not a terrorist. They said they were going to "make sure" he didnt take any more pictures. We pointed out that every person in the mall has a camera on them but his is large and does not fit in a pocket. He left immediately, followed to his car like a criminal, and was then surrounded in his car in the parking lot by security cars with yellow lights flashing as he left the parking lot. Columbia Place and Richland Fashion Malls are deserted waist lands of vacant storefronts, and I see the same in Columbiana Malls future. People will not go if it is an unpleasant, downright harassing experience. I assure you none of us will!. I will NEVER step foot it that mall again!

Id give more stars if security was worth anything but they are not. I had my shopping bag lifted unknowingly when I set it down for a moment. Security was a joke, he was an elderly man, he basically said there is nothing I can do, we dont have any cameras. Im thinking wait a minute in this day and age your telling me there are no cameras, he said yes thats what Im telling you. Sorry it happened but nothing I can do. Incident happened after 260 purchase at Sephora inside JcPennys. I was so ticked off and could have lost my cool if it wasnt for my daughter being there. This mall not store made any effort to get back to me. It was in fact a store across the US that sent me a gift card. Thank you JcPenny in Chino, California, it was done by that manager just bc she wanted to take some of the sting away. Columbiana mall needs security, cameras, and customer service training.

I wont be back! The mall was great from what I was able to look at while my father sat in the car with my 5 year old. I had to leave due to the jackass "Paul Blart" security guard who approached my father asking "why he was sitting in the shade away from other vehicles." But didnt bother to approach the other vehicles sitting in close proximity to my fathers vehicle. To explain the situation as to why he was sitting there, my 5 year old was asleep. The temperature outside even with the air on is still HOT! Sun beaming down in your face......not comfortable. Sooooooo, "Paul Blart" Security Ass-Clown, you should be fired for being a jackass. (To specify which ass-clown I am referring to: 8/1/15 at approximately 4:00pm; driving the security vehicle with the mustache! You know who you are!)

Gist: If youre visiting and looking to kill time, its a good spot to spend a few hours. Pros: Aesthetically, it has undergone some recent renovations as new tenants (ie Red Robin, Dave & Busters, a Belk Mens store) have replaced others (ie Sears) so its nice from the inside and out. Many of its entrances are ADA accesible and has ramps to complement stairs inside. Cons: Nothing in particular about Columbiana would suggest that youre in THE mall of a region with 3/4 of a million people. Except within anchor stores, all of the stores are on one floor. There are most of the national chains you would expect with a few exceptions (no H&M, no Apple store). Most of the new development is being added around it and not to it which makes for some frustrating traffic on any given weekend.
