DO NOT GO HERE FOR CONTACTS! Let me start out by saying that I have been wearing contacts for nearly 8 years, and have always had yearly eye exams done when my supply of contacts ran out. The only reason I came here for my new contacts this year was because it is close to where I work. The eye exam was routine enough (cant say anything about the price, because insurance paid for it.) My insurance pays for either a new pair of glasses or new contacts once a year (not both). Since I primarily use my contacts, I chose to pay for a pair of glasses out of pocket. But the problem with Eyeland is the contacts. After wearing my trial pair of contacts for 2 weeks, I was told by the staff there that they would not order my year supply of contacts before I came back in for a "contact lens fitting exam." I advised the employee that the contacts fit fine and that there was no need for them to check my eyes to see that the contacts were fitting ok, and that I have NEVER had to do this at any of the places I had purchased contacts from in the past. She informed me that it was their policy not to issue contacts until the separate lens exam was done. I then just asked her to release my contact prescription to me so that I could purchase my lenses elsewhere, but they claimed that they cannot release the prescription until the exam was done. So, I had to go back in and pay $40 for the contact lens fitting exam, which consisted of the opthamologist shining a flashlight into both of my eyes and asking me how they feel...I was in and out of the exam room in less than a minute. I dont mind having to go back in for the contact lens fitting exam, but I feel that $40 for her to shine a flashlight in my eyes for 10 seconds is a bit excessive, especially considering that I dont know of any other place that requires such an exam to be done. I will never be going here again, and would not recommend it to anyone.

Very disappointed all around. First after filling out questionaire stating that my job requires me to be on computer they prescribed progressive lenses. Everything was a blur and my "better" eye felt strained. Went back saw a different dr. They said oh no. You work on spread sheets all day? Progressive not for you and also discovered script for "good" eye needed adjusted. Prescribed bifocals with adjustment. Woman who sends in order marked lenses once than readjusted her markings. Now have new glasses aftee 3+ week wait and bifocal line on one lense is visibly higher than other. Eyes feel strained and transitions dont appear to be working properly. Have not darkened enough at all to diminish sunlight. Many more points I would like to make like tell my insurance carrier they have 1100 franes that would be covered no cost and could only point me to maybe 50 cheap plastic frames. Etc etc.

The staff was very friendly as I did not know what I wanted from the different contacts that they offer. I went in without an appointment and I was helped in less than 15 minutes! I really appreciate their genuine customer service.

Experience was pleasant. Given a discount. Was very pleased with service. Glasses took about 13 days. They did not pass inspection. Told when they would be done. Very happy would rather have them made right. Thank you Eyeland.
