Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. The staff is very impatient and unprofessional. Not just that, there selection of retro games is crap, most games they have are usually bottom of the barrel games and 95% of the time the cartridges for retro games are not in the greatest of shape. They lie to your face about games and how to so called "Properly" clean them, I been cleaning consoles and games for 15+ years and I can tell you right now, there intel on cleaning games is BS. Not only that, they charge eBay prices as I was told by one of their staff members..."We charge eBay prices with the shipping included because people will pay it", Get the heck out of here, this place is a joke. There are better stores around that have better selections and most importantly, better staff. You can start by going right down the road, right on 5th street, and go to PlugNPlay. I know the owner and they are very friendly, fun to talk to and have a good selection. Another place I highly recommend is Complete in Box in Ephrata, PA. They have a huge selection of old and new games and consoles and accessories. There staff is very friendly, patient, and helpful. Stay away from Microplay is what I always like to say.

The staff is knowledgeable and their inventory is pretty vast...but theyre not here for customer service; theyre here to turn a profit by any means nesscery. If that means misleading customers or being manipulative? Theyll do it. Theyll pretend to call other stores in the areas. Theyll go through elaborate routines and ruses. If it makes them a sale, theyll do it. Rest assured, however, it is all an act. If you just cannot find a vintage game anywhere else, they truly do have an impressive inventory....but thats all they have. Truthfully, E-Bay is a better bet than Microplay; your return policy will be much safer and enforceable. This store is as cutt-throat and dishonest as any Gamestop. Not recommended unless you are reasonably savy and aware for console games...and even then, they have a lot of business practices you do not want to reward.

If you live near the area, and are into buying some old retro games, then this place is the store to go, and possible the only place to go as of now. There is Gamestop, but unless you own a car or are very close to walmart, then youll most likely be walking for quite a distance. They have an excellent selection of games, all in their own respective gaming system category, and not only that, though some games do tend to be a little bit on the pricy side, a great majority of the games they have are fairly priced and reasonable. Customer service is also a A+, very friendly people to chat with as well. A minor complaint that I usually see here is the smell, which really isnt that bothersome or unpleasant. Theres hardly a bad odor to the place at all personally.

TERRIBLE! Was there today to see if they had a playstation 1 (bushido blade) game...they had it with no case or cover art, just the beat up disc. The guy behind the counter acted like it was the only one in existence describing it as ultra rare he went on to tell me that $25 dollars for the scratched POS was the deal of my life. Well I kinda knew what it was worth before going in and would have rather kept my business local but ended up buying it in their parking lot in like new complete condition for $22. With them just go online, I hate to say that but it almost seems like thats what they want.

This store is almost laughable. Pricing is a sham and staff has the personality of wet cardboard. I recently visited a store in ephrata in search of retro and classic games and systems and found a whole new world of pricing and stock that defeats Microplate at every level. Final fantasy 7 at Microplay? 60$ online? 25-40$ and in ephrata I found it for 30$. If Microplay expects to make it in the future, their pricing and attitude needs to change desperately. Only positive is that they do have a wide selection.

This place stinks the clerk is not friendly and he got upset when i tried to ask how much something costs. The other customer there also mouthed off to me for no reason. I will never shop here again this place is not a friendly environment. typical rude berks county business do not shop here they dont want your business I was going to buy a PS3 there but forget it and theirs only one clerk there and they are usually unfriendly. There needs to be a manager in the store.

Prices are outrageously high on most used games, however their selection is enormous. If someone there ever figures out the goldmine of stuff they have would sell if reasonably priced, the owner will make a mint. Until then its like walking into a closet of crap, not knowing where to start to clean it up, and ultimately walking away with nothing, leaving the closet as messed up as it was when you arrived. Please wake up. Its not 1990 anymore.

Great selection, If you pre-order a game sometimes they have it ready for pickup 2 days before release. The only negative I can find is that they sell new games but if u look at the store from outside it looks they sell only retro games. They do sell retro games but at least show that you have to new ones as well. That way all gamers come to your store rather than just collectors.

Ive been coming here since a young age; Microplay always has whatever game Im looking for at a reasonable price. If youre close to it I would recommend it over a gamestop. Support local business. Also the staff is very kind and always willing to go out of their way to help you. 10/10 Id recommend to anyone who loves gaming. Microplay has my business for life!

Absolutely the best gaming store I have ever seen. Better selection than any store. Any platform, and any game---they got it and at great prices. They have classic game in perfect condition and the latest releases at great prices as well. Better prices and selection than any other store in the area.

Good prices. They often release pre-order games to you BEFORE the actual release date (i.e. the night/day before)! This is something that NO other place will do for you. The place is a little dirty and looks disorganized but the truth is they have good customer service and thats what matters most.

Horrible prices. Youre actually better off buying from eBay and Amazon the way they have most of the stock priced here. Its a shame cause they have a great selection. Properly organized and competitively priced this would be a great video game store for the Reading area.

This is a pretty standard mom-and-pop used games store. Lots of old games, mostly crap, but there are enough rare finds that its worth a look if youre in the area. Also, they break street date by at least a week on pretty much everything, so theres that.
