I was in your Quakertown branch yesterday to resolve an issue of a gallon of mis-tinted Porch and Floor Enamel that was purchased back in October. I work out of Lafayette Hill, PA and I am seldom in the Bucks County area but because I have a set of loyal customers in Perkasie, PA (my in-laws who I have convinced over the years to switch to Sherwin Williams) I had to go back out there yesterday to do a job. I called on 2 separate occasions earlier this week (to your Quakertown Store) and was told that I would be taken care of, after I explained the situation. I was told that Brandon would be in every day from open to close and not to worry about talking to someone who had the authority to get something done (mainly a compensation for this color error on your part and money in the form of materials, toward a smaller job that I was doing for my in-laws yesterday). Like I said, I called twice this week before showing up yesterday to ensure that time would not be wasted since I had to drive an hour to Quakertown to resolve this. I get into the store and there is no manager there. There was a color consultant, a part-timer, and 2 sales associates (I believe one gentlemans name is Jack and a younger girl). I was taken over to a table and a heavy set gentleman began taking notes on what I had explained to him, I showed him my paperwork, numbers, and pictures of the miscolore floor. He reassured me (probably too much) that I would be taken care of and get everything that I needed in order to keep these customers happy. So, a few things I noticed: 1)You didnt even have a manager on site. 2)Brandon was not in fact working--as I had been told numerous times. 3)No one there had the authority to push anything through the system regarding a reimbursement. 4)They did not even have a concrete time as to when BRIAN, the manager (I am guessing) was going to be coming in. Can you see where I can begin to get frustrated and time is being wasted along with money (I had my employee already on the job in Perkasie, prepping, and awaiting the paint that I was supposed to be getting from the Quakertown store). Brian is called on the phone and comes into the store after I had been there for 35 minutes already. Brian shows up in sweatpants, a navy blue T-shirt, and a sweatshirt. Basically a pair of pajamas. He also appeared to be under the influence of substances. He begins by telling me that the job was showing variation in the color due to a poor paint job. That I did not keep a wet edge or did not apply enough coats, or did not approach the job correctly. That he had no liability in the situation. After he went onto give me a verbal lesson (I have been painting for 10 years and if you look at my account, you can see that my sales demonstrate that) on how to properly paint a basement floor--he took a hardball approach and refused to give me anything more than the original three gallons of paint to compensate. I respectfully declined his offer, shook his hand, made my purchase of around $260 of the materials that I needed and left. For me, this situation has little to do with money. In fact--I could care less as to whether or not I am compensated. As a consumer and loyal promoter of Sherwin Williams products (over the plethora of other paints available in todays market)--I feel as though my experience in your Quakertown Store, with Brian---has reflected poorly on your Corporation as a whole. Why would you appoint someone to a position that he or she cannot handle? Also, the way he treated his employees in front of me (Jack/John came over to confirm that the machine was having tint issues with maroon during my time of purchase in October and Brian treated the employee with no dignity as he dismissed his comments and told him to leave). Apart from his lack of knowledge on customer relations, I would look at Brians overall appearance and approach to what I thought was a sound business model and claim that he did not take it seriously and that someone else would be eager to fill a position such as his.

I did have a problem there, selling me tinted poly rather than clear. While this was a serious problem after putting it on the floor they did work with me to remedy it as best we could and supplied new poly and supplies at their expense to make corrects. I do intend to continue using them but be careful about understanding what I buy.
