If youre in the Pottsville area and you have a spare 45 minutes or so, you have to check out the Yuengling Brewery tour. This comprehensive tour chronicles the complete history of Americas Oldest Brewery, from its beginnings on Centre St, Prohibition, modernization of the brew process and its current operations and expansions. The tour will take you throughout the entire brewery, through the old fill room, the fermenting caverns to the new fermenting room and production lines. The tours are generally at 1:30 however I suggest to call as sometimes they have events and are not running them.

Ive done this free tour several times because I love showing friends from out of the area what a one-of-a-kind, historic business Pottsville has right in the heart of town. It is not only the oldest brewery in America, but probably the one with the most interesting story and facility. All guides are very knowledgeable and proud of the brewery. The free beer (or birch beer) for all visitors is a great finish to the tour. The gift shop has fun/historical souvenirs for all budgets.

Took the tour today, I believe JJ (?) was our guide. Very impressive. She did a fantastic job. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She made the tour very enjoyable. Nice getting all the history and personal attention a robot cant give like some other breweries Ive toured around the country. This was one of my favorites. Although parking my crew cab was definitely a chore in town lol.

This is a free, but excellent tour with the most amazing tour guides! So friendly and enthusiastic. To check out the caves used for cooling, before the era of refrigeration is worth the trip. Beer tasting at the end and they do have an awesome gift shop .

Excellent tour. Different from the other breweries I have seen in the past. A real lesson in part of our countrys history. Also got to meet Mr Yuengling. Great experience.

Visited on a Sunday. It would have been more interesting if the brewery were working at the time. Tasting at the end was excellent. Tourguides knowledge was excellent.
