I dont write many reviews about places but Im really compelled to speak about how poor my experience at this home depot always it. Im generally a Home Depot over Lowes shopper since I generally find Home Depot to be superior, but every time I go to this Home Depot the employees seem that they couldnt care less about helping customers and they are severely lacking in the basic knowledge youd expect them to have. Im not expecting them to be Ron Swanson, and most of the time I know exactly what Im there for, but I spend way to much time in the store because I dont know where it is and no one seems to care. I live close to East Liberty but often choose to go to the Pittsburgh Mills Lowes unless I know EXACTLY what I need and where it is, otherwise Ill waste more time in this store than the extra driving time. My review might sound overly critical but I spend a lot of time and money in these stores and this Home Depot is really disappointing. In addition, I wait in absurd lines here often. Home Depot isnt Walmart please open more than 2 checkouts during busy times. Source: $50,000/year home improvement spender and real estate investor.

Pure Incompetence. I went in to pick up a sink that I ordered online. After waiting with several others for 15 minutes, finally a woman came to the desk. Angie. Who the heck knows where she was. Moving at the speed of molasses, she finally got to me. She then disappeared for a full 10 minutes in the back looking for my sink. She returned empty handed. Four more bewildered people arrived to Customer Service during this period completely confused. She couldnt find my item. It turns out they accidentally shipped a toilet instead of a sink, which they then brought out to show me for no reason. We 100% verified it was their mistake. Angie was completely confused and lost this whole time. Additionally, she has a speech disability wherein she cannot talk above a quiet whisper. I am sorry for her condition, but Customer Service may be the wrong position to place her. She could not help me get reimbursed. She left, and some guy came and fixed my issue in less than one minute. This is a poorly managed store in my experience. I will not be back soon. Never order anything online and have it shipped here.

This place is very hit or miss. I was there at 9pm trying to get lumber cut, waited for about 15 mins with the lumber person being called on the PA and no one ever came. I asked at customer service how they could not know if someone was supposed to be working at that time, and the response was a stare and a shrug. I phoned the day before July 4th to ask what their store hours were for the holiday and the person I ended up speaking to said they did not know. I asked them to find out and they just kept me on hold. I called back on the other line after a few mins and conferenced in the call on hold with the operator who could tell me what the hours were. Meanwhile the other person never took me off hold. Having said all that my experiences in person are generally fine. The staff generally are helpful if youre lucky enough to get someone who knows the answer to your question. I havent had issues with anyone in the parking lot or feeling unsafe, but there are plenty of bad parkers, and the parking lot could do with having the lines repainted, especially the stop lines.

Everything was great until after I checked out. When one is waiting for a ride and the service/tool entrance (as I had about 50 plants)..a certain employee who was wandering around appeared to have nothing to do BUT WALK AROUND. i did take notice and several times he passed he looked and of course made eye contact. A few minutes passed and he was behind me at the bench where CUSTOMERS should be sitting and told two other emoloyees that eye was staring. He came up to me with my buggy full ot items purchased and asked..."whats up..whats wrong..why you looking...you keep staring" all about 3 times. I said WHERE is your General Manager, I am a paying customer and an employee cannot harass a customer. I then waited for the gm and spoke about the incident. He told me it would be taken care of right after I leave. PLEASE if you are workiing, do not harass customers, and if you are working, THEN WORK!!! OR ASK YOUR BOSS FOR SOMETHING TO DO.

This Home Depot is outstanding and is right in the city. It represents the diversity of our city and I can tell you as an upper middle class, middle-age, white person, who has lived here my whole life, this store is great. Remodeled 2 homes there. People saying that they dont go after dark, or in any way intimates that it is not safe, or as friendly and helpful as a suburban store, are clearly people who have not lived in the city for long.... its their perception which is fine, not critique, but please... I walk around East Liberty at night at all hours... no problem... ever. This Home Depot is open until 10pm and its great to have them open that late. Very convenient. People working there very knowledagle. It will not have some of the broader inventory of other stores, but it is one of the most, if not most, successful Home Depot in Western PA.

As a moderately knowledgeable home owner, I wanted fix my leaky tub faucet. I figured out part of the job but went to Home Depot needing both parts and tips because I had run into issues I didnt understand. I grabbed on customer service guy in plumbing who realized my question was a bit beyond him so he quickly found Dennis as the real plumbing expert. Dennis helped me through the step of what special tool I need to remove the stem. I returned later the same day with the stem frozen to the chrome cowling. Dennis took it into his shop and struggled but successfully separated the two parts. He then helped me select the right replacement stem. The rest of the install went smoothly and I am a happy camper. I could not have done it without the expert guidance and extra effort. I tip my cap to Dennis!

Wow, Im amazed about people writing about being hassled in the Home Depot parking lot. Ive been coming here since it opened, and not only have I never been approached in the lot, Ive never seen anyone else approached, nor have I seen anyone even loitering. The store may have some very minor inventory location issues, though I suspect this is true of all Home Depots. That is, once I was trying to locate a LED bulb, which the web claimed they had 7 of, and no one could actually find it. But in all honesty, that was the only time that I couldnt find something that should have been there, in many years of shopping. And often, if you doing a DYI project, you can find someone who can give you some assistance on how to accomplish the task.

All you scared white people writing about how not to go at night are scared of your own imaginations. I live 3 miles away. I am a white guy, I grew up here and went to Peabody Highschool across the street. Reality is your probably more likely to get hurt in the burbs by a conceal carry fanatic than here in the city in East Liberty. Its a good store I have been going there for 10 years or so. Never had an issue with anything other than sometimes people restock a shelf themselves with the wrong product and the staff misses it. If your getting caulk dont look at the box look at the tube in your hand. Same with the bolts nuts screws etc. Never trust the box. Thats my only thing about this store that Ilearned the hard way.
