I have always taken my dogs to Pet Smart to be groomed. I love the 2 groomers I use there,. BUT, I was horrified when my daughter and my granddaughter went early to pick up their dog only to see it being mistreated by the groomer. Needless to say, she went into the salon and took her dog out of there, half groomed. I went to the grooming salon just minutes after this incident to questioned them, not only out of concern for my daughters dog, but the concern I have about taking my dogs there in the future. They of course deny any mistreating of my daughters dog. My daughter and my granddaughter were both mistaken about the incident, according to the 3 groomers and the manager. The manager said that is why they have windows to the grooming salon, so that people can see what is going on when the dogs are being groomed. They do indeed have windows, but they are so heavily decorated that the view is obstructed for the most part, unless you walk close to the window and peer between the decorations. They also seem to have cameras all over the store, but it does not appear they have any in the salon...why would that be I wonder? The groomer claimed my daughters 8lb dog was attacking her, but when I asked to see bite marks and scratches on this groomer from her alleged attack she was unable to show any marks, she did not even have a red mark on any of her arms. Just the same, my granddaughter and daughter will both tell you that the groomer was being really rough with the dog, and before they could even react to what they were seeing the groomer who had the nail grinder gripped in her hand, popped their dog on the head with it! Well, it is their word against the word of my daughter and granddaughter, but I will ask this question; why would my daughter take her dog out of the salon half groomed, when it takes her one hour to drive there from her home? Seems to me only a person concerned about the treatment of their dog would do such a thing. Now she has this silly looking half groomed dog with only 2 paws finished! As for me, I really really like the 2 girls that do my dogs at Pet Smart, but unfortunately they are now, in my opinion, both guilty by association... I had to take into consideration, when making this judgement, that one of my beloved groomers that I trusted with my dogs in the past was in the salon that night, and she told 2 different stories,...first she was in the back and saw nothing, then she was right there with the groomer who did my daughters dog and saw nothing to be concerned about.....what a drag.... I also buy all my dog food from Pet Smart, but now I see I can get it all at the Agway in Beaver, so Good Bye Pet Smart....not that it matters to you, your a huge store and my tiff will never make a difference $$$, but maybe someone will read this and decide to not take a chance on the salon in the Monaca branch....look at that, maybe I saved a dog today lol

Horrible. {One sweet girl, who loved my pit, bless her heart, she needs to find another place to work} Travel for a living, been in 100s of these, & this is by far the worst, hands down. As far as live fish, or snails, forget it, all theirs are dead or dying. 2 of the employees made snide comments, implying my pit was or could be an issue with other dogs, which is definitely not the case. She is a lover, & was properly socialize, & when I asked one employee why she would say for me to "Watch out, there a lot of dogs @ the check out counter, maybe you should wait or something" She just walked off. @ the check out counter, both girls were to busy on their cell phones to greet me, my dog, or to make sure they even rang everything up. I probably could have walked out with to 2 bags of dog food I had under my shopping cart, if I hadnt pointed them out. Never will return here. Dont waste your time.

really this is sick

I normally take my pets to cranberry PetSmart for their grooming. On this one occasion they were not able to get my pets in before my vacation so I called Monaca...big mistake... when I pick my dog up the groomer was very short with me stating that my dog whimpered and when not sit still. I thought it was odd not because I think my dog is perfect but because Cranberry PetSmart always Praises my dogs on how well they do during their grooming... after I got her home I found out that the groomer cut a mole off of her back that was bleeding and got infected within a few days... no wonder she whimpered she was in pain and uncomfortable during her grooming. There is no way that that groomer did not know she had cut my dog. The groomers at cranberry PetSmart are amazing... there is a remarkable difference between the groomers at cranberry and Monaca...

I have to give this store credit where credit is due. They had a Normal baby Ball Python that just wasnt doing very well in its environment meaning being on display 12 hours a day, they are very solitary animals that like to hide in dark wholes during daylight hours and come out at night to hunt. This baby wasnt eating and stressed out, although it had several vet visits its still was declining. When they asked if I was experience with Balls and asked if I wanted to adopt it I was hesitant until I saw its condition. I decided to take it and do what I could to get it to take food since it hadnt eaten in 2 months ( typical for snakes but not babies) I took it home, warmed him up, let it be for a while, offered it food and with a lot of coaxing it ate that night! Now time will tell. Thank you Petsmart for doing the right thing for this baby snake.

What a joke. This is the most inconsistent store Ive ever shopped at. Its a half an hour drive to get there that I make a few times each month. Today I get there and they have zero crickets, dont have the bedding that I always purchase for my Guinea pig and theyre out of the cat food I regularly buy. When I tried to speak to an employee they just looked at me like Im from a different planet. Taking my business to someone who actually know how to run a proper business. From one business owner to another, you should really reevaluate your management.

They dont always have what you need and some of the staff need to get on the same page. They are Condisending. And to bad if they dont have what you want. If you need a part for some filters yoy have to buy the whole unit. Smh get it together. Cause Im going back to aquatic gardens. Should have never going there. Tried this because it was closer. Would have spent the same money if i took a taxi from Hopewell to Beaver Falls. Sad.

Do Not use grooming service. My pug died in staff member arms because they are not educated about emergency. The vet attempted to revive Latte, but it was too late. Her tongue turned blue when the groomer handed her to my husband. Had used services before. Will never return and will continue to warn animal owners about store.
