Came in here to try some snowboard boots as Ive been a fan of Flow and K2 for years and thats primarily what they carry. Took nearly half an hour to even get noticed or asked if I needed assistance. When I finally did flag somebody down to get me some boots to try on they treated me like I knew absolutely nothing about snowboarding or how to fit boots and basically tried to shush me when I gave my input, as if I dont know my own feet or riding habits. Ended up getting me a pair of boots that, while comfortable, were at least a size and a half too big and anybody whos been snowboarding for awhile knows boots pack out with use. I mentioned this and they said they were going to retrieve me a size down. I waited and waited for them to return and nobody else ever came out with the other pair so I got up and left. Considering it wasnt particularly busy and its not a large store I found this to be an inexcusable way to treat a potential customer, especially one with a number of seasons under their belt. Will not be returning.

As a hardcore skier for over 40 years, Ive had many varied experiences with both local and resort ski shops. I can say without qualification that my experiences at Salters have always been exceptional. Unrecognized foot problems caused over 30 years of boot discomfort before I "discovered" Salters back in 2002. The knowledgeable staff took the time to work with me to not only get me in the right boot, but to compensate for my imperfect anatomy. Ive now bought new boots from Salters at least 3 times in the last 10 years, working with different boot fitters each time and the results are consistently great. Even though the drive is more than an hour for me, it is well worth the trip. I highly recommend!

Id never shop here again. A few months after spending $650 on ski equipment I was told there is a balance on my "account" for $155. Perplexed, I responded that I paid the bill in full at the point of sale with a credit card. What account balance could they be talking about? I then got a phone call a week later reiterating this "problem" with my account. So I looked up my credit card statement and confirmed that I was charged the full amount of my purchase. That seemed to satisfy them and they apologized for their mistake. A few months after that I received a letter in the mail with a bill for $155 for the balance that is apparently still on my "account". Un-F-ing-believable!!

I was desperate to get my daughters skis tuned and waxed before a race, and the Salters staff told me to come right in and they got it done that afternoon. They were the only shop that could do this, and they were all friendly and helpful at every step. Great selection of merchandise too.
