Josh is amazing! He will tell you exactly how it is and wont tell you what he thinks you want to hear. Just like any tattoo artist, he has his specialties and is a pro at it! If he thinks he might not be the best person to do that style of tattoo art, then he will say so. A very honest and trustworthy person. He is serious about cleanliness and his shop shows it. If you are in Seaside when hes open, I strongly suggest stepping in and taking a look at his work. Everyone in my family goes to him and the tattoos that he has done shine out! His prices are very reasonable for his quality (not hourly rates). Josh does not have a heavy hand and is gentile compared to others Ive been tattooed by. He is fantastic at nature art (animals, plants, clouds), pinup girls, tribal, font, shrunken heads, daggers, and many other things. I love his work, his honesty, and will recommend him to everyone! I was in Seaside for the week...The mood struck me to go get a tattoo. I visited another shop in town and was told I could come back at 5. When I called to make sure I was told no and come back tomorrow. So I placed a call to Nine Lives & she told me to come right in. I wanted some cherry blossoms placed around an existing tat. I met my artist Randy...she was a total pleasure and sketched it up on my arm. The coloring she chose for me was perfect and she inked me up in less than an hour! I am very excited about my ink and the job she did with giving me blossoms that just further added to the beauty of my original art. Thanks so much and I will come back again!

My crappy collection of tattoos and I were lucky to stumble across this shop. The owner of the shop has been tattooing for over 20 years. His beautiful cover up work has made me feel like a totally new person. I actually came in for a different tattoo and mentioned how much I disliked my others but was under the assumption that they couldnt be fixed. Something like this could only be achieved by a true EXPERIENCED professional in the industry. I cant stress that enough. Clean, non judgemental and totally assuring, puts you at ease. In a land where everyone seems to be a tattoo artist, youve got to choose wisely. Ill never go anywhere else again.

Received 2 tattoos here while living in CB area, great work, only problem is I have to now get a tattoo redone. The translations in their book are way off for at least Tibetan. Not sure about the other languages, but I now need to cover up a tattoo I got from them. I think this is poor service, and was marked as so, and I would not recommend anyone go off of it. I asked them how they had it translated, and they said a native speaker/writer. That was obviously a lie, Ive since had a few natives tell me my tattoo on my forearm is gibberish. Otherwise, the artwork and cleanliness are both good, would recommend them if you design your own tat.

This place is amazing! If youre looking to get some excellent work done, I highly recommend Nine lives. Josh is very good at what he does, hes honest with you.... very straightforward without that rockstar ego that makes people with questions feel uncomfortable. The facility is one of the cleanest Ive encountered. I travel from Portland for all of my work, I find quality and integrity are hard to find in this industry, and the experience I get from Nine Lives is priceless.

I have been commuting four hours, about five times a year for the past six years to be tattooed by Josh. Absolutely worth the effort as he stands apart from the many tattooists in the PNW. Hes talented, amiable, gives great advice and beyond reasonably priced considering the quality of his work. Whether its custom or straight off the wall you are in the best of hands. Make good decisions and book an appointment!
