HoP is a large, clean, open space with glass display cases filled with just about everything you could ever want or need to enjoy the benefits of cannabis. the wall space is lined with very high quality glass. their huge inventory caters to all types and budgets. you can easily spend thousands getting a work of art and bragging rights if thats what youre after. you can also come in for something to get the job done for the least amount of money possible. from those two extremes and everything in between. whatever your need, you can find it here AND have several choices for your budget. i cant think of another shop that is even comparable with HoP in this respect, actually. HoP is also a serious contender in the kratom trade. this is the biggest separation from other headshops. HoP came into the game with very good, inexpensive, bulk kratom that makes dedicated shops look bad.. and other headshops selling kratom even worse than they are. remember that theres a big difference between cheap and inexpensive. HoP has inexpensive kratom in pretty much any amount you want. from an ounce to a kilo. from red to white to green to varieties ive not even heard of. i used to have to pay $14ish for an ounce if i had to buy local. HoP has $10 ounces of quality kratom, with significant price breaks going up. i get 100 grams at a time for $30. so 3.6ish ounces for $30. if you buy regular, ground plain leaf kratom in the portland area.. you can not get it better or cheaper than at HoP. i realize that this is a bold statement, but i cant think of another shop that provides this quality for this price. i can only comment about HoPs plain leaf kratom, and not including online prices obviously. if you dont want to wait, dont want to chance getting ripped off, dont like your card number in cyberspace, etc.. no other place can compare to HoP. not even herbstomp. i just picked up some yesterday. i got red bali. when i opened the bag, i was overwhelmed by the smell! i scooped up a spoonful and the consistency was like the sand you would want for a sandcastle. slightly moist, not at all wet. it also has a reddish hue, which is just awesome. its not all show either.. very potent. its incredible that i can get this level of kratom local, at a headshop, and for a price that beats the dedicated shops. its two of the employees who keep their business shining bright. i am ashamed to admit that i dont know their names! i hate to need to rely on a physical description to bring attention to their excellent work.. but i cant not mention them, because they have a huge impact on the success of HoP. their red hair is appropriate for the fire they bring lol. long red hair kept in check by a beanie, this guy is personable and easy to talk to. shorter red hair kept in check under a flat bill hat is full of energy and smiles easily, which is contagious. both young guys, both managers of the store. having been a passive witness over time, ive seen firsthand how these two stand out. everyone is their friend, meaning they want you to feel good about your experience at HoP. they are genuine people that are passionate about what they do. i thought they were the owners of HoP because of the personal efforts they make to bring people in and keep them coming back. its important for them to do anything they can do to build and maintain their relationship with the people that they are helping. i dont see this kind of dedication from employees that just need a check. i dont see it from employees that are great employees even. they take personal responsibility in their store. something i thought would only be there if they were financially invested in HoPs success. the reality is that these guys are doing what they love to do. they understand what so many others dont.. that all people appreciate passion and dedication. that pride in what you do and the effort to be better is just as important as anything. i am a fiercely loyal customer of HoP because of these advantages and the people that back them up. you raise the bar.

I was buying an item for a friend as a birthday present, and I showed the employee a picture of the item that I wanted. He gave me the same brand product with a different name like "Vape Pen" but this one was like the "Vape Pen Plus" and he told me that its the same one it just had an extra thing inside of it or whatever. So I was like okay cool as long as it does exactly what my friend wants it to do, no problem. So I bought it and he asked if I wanted a receipt. I said sure why not just in case he might not like it he can return it or exchange it for a new one... Boy was I wrong... They dont do exchanges or returns. So why the hell did he give me a receipt then? Anyway once I found out it didnt do the same thing like he said it would I went to return it and they refused. He showed me the sign that said "No Returns, No Exchanges" that was below the cash register. Now keep in mind the Im about 6ft tall and that sign was at the same level as my knees. Also keep in mind that I told him exactly what he told me. That it would do exactly the same thing as the other one... It was a 100$ item and I was forced to sell it myself. Fortunately I sold it and got my money back but I called the Oregon City store and asked for the manager and they told me that they would leave my number with them and that "If the manager is interested in helping you, theyll give you a call." Long story short its been about three weeks and I havent been called once. Even though I sold it I was still very pissed, and will never do business at their stores ever again... .Xx

About a week ago I went in a bought a pipe, the guy who helped me pointed some out within the price range, ended up choosing one and looked at it. There were lines around where the bowl and shaft meet, but the guy assured me it was part of the design. Fast forward, the pipe broken very cleanly, exactly where the lines were. It wasnt dropped, it was taken care of, and out of nowhere it just popped into two pieces. I called the store up, first guy that answers tells me to call back because his coworker is on break. I call a bit later, explain what happened, and he got an attitude with me saying theres a no return, no exchange policy. I understand why that would be in place, no one wants a "refurbed" pipe, but not taking back a very low quality piece is a kick in the gut to your customers. Thoroughly inspect any piece you buy from this store, if anything looks or feels out of place, DO NOT BUY IT. Do not be fooled, and make the same mistake as I did.

Honestly I usually never write reviews for any business unless I had bad experience but for once I write a good review because I was absolutely trilled with the service I got at the Oregon City House Of Pipes. I went in looking for a water pipe and the first thing that happens as I walk in the doors I am cheerfully welcomed in by a very enthusiastic young man with long kick ass red hair. I really didnt know any terminology about any water pipe and he was super patient with me and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. Im a firm believer that I will only tip if they did a really good job and I tipped him a $20, I was absolutely thrill with my purchase. Everyone there was super knowledgeable and was super nice and a great help. Definitely recommend this local business to any new or old smoker or even any art enthusiast!
