Ive been to this liquor store a few times because its the closest to my house. Almost everytime I go there the workers behind the counter arent very friendly, but they never give me any problems So I just buy my liquor and leave. However, Im complaining this time because it was New Years Eve, and I understand the workers want to get out so they can get ready for the parties, but what they did was just rude. I showed up at 6:52, I look at my android right when I got to the door. They had PLENTY of time to get ready for the "parties" that night. A large white guy in his late 20s was at the door letting people out, but not letting people in. He wouldnt let me, or the few other people that showed up, into the store. We all questioned him saying we still have almost 10 minutes, and his reply was, "It is 7, we close at 7." I told him i know exactly what I want, can I please go in, its only 6:52pm" I showed him my phone. He said, "it will be after 7 before you make it thought the line." The line had about 10 people. I said, "Since when did you start closing at 6:52? His rude comment was, "Since I said so". I was appalled and left letting him know Id be speaking to the manager. He said, "Go right ahead". A couple days later I called the liquor store and a woman answered. I asked, "May I please speak to the manager." She replied, "They are not available, may I take a message." I said, "no, thats ok, I just need to speak to him, when should I call back?" She said, "may I take a message". I thought maybe she didnt hear me, so i repeated myself. She again said, "may I take a message". I was flabbergasted!!! I said very nicely, "what is your name maam" She replied, "Im not gonna give you my name over the phone, may I take a message." I said, "no, Ill try back until I get a hold of your manager." Ive called back once more the next day, but no manager. Im not gonna waste my time with this store. This is the WORST customer service experience Ive EVER had at ANY store. Im going to drive the extra 2 miles everytime I need liquor now. DO NOT SHOP HERE, unless you like to deal with workers with major attitude problems!!!!!

I do not wish to give this establishment a single star. I have shopped here since I turned 21, It was the first store I bought alcohol from. I shopped here all the time. Now, even though the store is half a block from me I will never shop here again after what happened to me today. Heres the story: Today is my 5 year anniversary and to celebrate we wanted to get some rum and coke. I did not have money to spend in my account so my girlfriend gave me her card, as we have done at this store many many times in the past. I went in and picked out what I wanted and got in line. The line was longer then average, no big deal. There was only one person ringing customers up, the owner was talking to a customer, when she was done she started to ring people up as well. I got her, she asked for my ID which considering I am 22 it makes sense, even though she has seen me at her shop many times, I gave her my girlfriends card, she took one look and said no, I cannot sell this to you since the name on the card is a girls name. She said that it was illegal to sell to someone using someone elses card. Her words were to the same effect of "This is a girls name. I cannot sell to you ." First of all the gender of the name on the card should make no difference. She made it a point that she would not sell to me because it was a girls name. She eluded to say if a guys name was on the card it would have been fine. I told her that it was my girlfriends card, and that I have shopped there using that exact card many times before, she still said no it is illegal. Which is not true, although my girlfriend is breaking a contract with her card issuer by letting me use it, there are no legal ramifications of using someones card with their permission. Even if I was committing fraud, the blame for using the card illegitimately would be solely on myself. I will not be shopping here again, I will make the drive out to the Beaverton store, they are open later anyway.

Never shopping here again! My husband and I went in today for our favorite rum. It was on sale, so he grabbed 4 bottles and then realized the only baskets were near the door. As he walked over to grab one, the older owner lady that all these other reviews are talking about asked aggressively, "Can I help you find something?" in an unfriendly tone that clearly meant "I see you and think youre trying to steal." We found that pretty offensive and uncalled for since thats where the baskets were, so we decided to take our money elsewhere and put the rum back. On our way out, she stopped me and demanded to look in my purse as if Id somehow put the 4 large bottles in my little handbag instead of back on the shelf in plain sight. We remember incompetent service from this place before they relocated but hadnt yet encountered it at their new location. We were hoping theyd changed hands. Since alcohol costs the same everywhere, these places have to differentiate themselves by their service - and this place is a how-not-to-run-a-business primer in action. We headed straight over to the one on Cornelius Pass and had a wonderfully pleasant experience - and were inspired to buy a few more bottles than we intended to out of spite! Cheers!

This Liquor store stands apart from all the rest in Hillsboro/Aloha area. They specialize, showcase and highlight the great local distillery scene going on here in Portland. They had an entire aisle dedicated to local spirits. Deco, House Spirits, New Deal. Rogue....the list goes on. An entire aisle! Some liquor stores will incorporate local liquors with the rest of the national products, making it pretty hard to find. I love the ease of a one stop aisle for local liquors. I think they carried the most local spirits I have seen yet in an Oregon store. In a state where the communistic OLCC dictates pricing and hours, Aloha knows how to stand out from the pack...selection. We have an epic distillery scene here in Portland and I am glad a little store like this in the burbs decided to stray from the norm and stand up and say, "We make great Liquor, dammit!"

I was very offended the first time I went to this store(the old location) by the way the owner treated her employees. Have only gone to the new store 3 times out of necessity(a Sunday & snow day) my liquor was closed. When I called on the snow day to see if she was open she rudely said to me"I must be if I answered the phone"!?!? I also have had the unpleasant experience of this horrible woman at Cash & Carry where she cut in line in front of the family behind me in line. I told her they were next in line and she replied "well Im a rude person". I am making it my new goal to be sure all my friends, family and anyone I meet does not ever give this awful ugly poor excuse of a local business owner any more business. There are 2 other choices with 3 miles. Use ANY other store she does not deserve your business!
