My wife and I found a used vehicle on line that fit our needs. We went down to the dealer and met with a salesman who was very eager to help until it came time to find out what fit us ideally financially. After we voiced what our "likes were" the mood changed and we were told they could not help! We were never given the opportunity to talk through what would work. At that point we left because the salesman was done with us.... we thought about our needs and current situation for a couple days, finally we decided to pursue our own financing with help from a competing dealer! After not finding another vehicle that fit our budget and needs we were forced to go back yet again. We spoke with another salesman again and we were not getting the at home feeling. Finally we came to an agreement (at the time we thought was good but read on to see why not so good) that was more money than what the first salesman had told us, but whats a couple hundred dollars? We went back a third time the following day to give our trade and pick up our vehicle, long story short nothing was prepared that should have been from the evening before.....after sitting for over an hour the deal was done. We asked for a full tank of fuel to help offset the above mentioned price difference. They gave half a tank of fuel and offered to do a plate transfer to offset the cost. What were we supposed to do? We arent the type of folks to argue. Now it has been a couple days. Im happy with the vehicle. We wanted to see what they were selling out trade for....bad idea, they are going to make 35% profit on our trade. Now think of the vehicle we bought.... most likely the same35%. Now if you put a dollar sign to that they will have made 8k profit on just my transaction! All that and they wouldnt give us more for our trade. Needless to say we will not be back and wont recommend anyone to wheeler Toyota. Thank you for your time.

I just leased a car from this dealership and am COMPLETELY dissatisfied. I was promised 1000% by multiple sales associates that Toyotas new "best price policy" would not allow ANY other local Toyota dealership to offer me a better price on a lease. This was completely NOT true. LITHIA in Medford could provide me a $1100 better price, and that was even without negotiation. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. I was lied to and pressured by all sales associates. Do you know what gap insurance is? Expect attitude if you dont want to pay for their overpriced policy. If you do some quick research on Reddit or car forums you can see past Toyota Finance Managers explain this scam and why you should never lease. If you do lease you should never pay more than $300 for GAP insurance. The more the sales associates hammer in that they are transparent and honest the less you should believe them. The "best price policy" is a complete lie and one of the sales associates even admitted they were able to budge on this a few times although they got in "trouble". Car sales people in 2017 are just as manipulative and dishonest as 2000... dont be fooled by the "we do stuff different now" line. I heard it from every dealership I visited. These people will never be honest. I am also confused if this dealerships staff works on commission or not, as during the deal I was told both that the commission would be split between 2 sales associates and that they didnt work on commission... I wonder which is true. I would like to come back and add more details about this experience but I am too upset to do so at the moment

Ive gotta admit that I dont really like shopping for cars at dealerships normally. I was recently involved in an accident, however, and had to find another car. I tried some of the other dealerships, and would usually try to get an idea of what used cars were onhand and what the sticker prices were as quickly as I could before some cheesy salesman would eventually feel the need to come over and "help". Usually, Id politely look around and figure out that the cars were either overpriced or of poor quality...sometimes both! Once I would figure that out, Id leave as quickly as I could and give the pushy salesman a fake phone number. I was to the point where I was convinced that I would be better off buying from a private party. Well, my wife had bought her 2012 Camry at Wheeler and she suggested that we go back. Im glad we did. Wheeler has taken a more long term sales approach and changed the car buying formula to favor the customer. Our salesman let us roam about the lot unescorted and told us to call him if we saw anything we liked. We were allowed to test drive the car I ended up buying (an 07 Camry) alone, and told to just make sure we had it back before closing. We negotiated on a very fair price with no pressure to buy. We were even told that if we wanted, they would call us back if they got a car in that wed prefer. My wife and I both have a high opinion of the employees at Wheeler Toyota of Grants Pass and would (and do) recommend them to anyone interested in purchasing a Toyota.

My family has been looking for a 2005 - 2009 Lexus GX470 for about 6 months before coming to Grants Pass Toyota. Two other Rogue Valley dealerships told my family that finding that specific vehicle was nearly impossible and the dealerships were not willing to work with us. Paul Gutzman from Grants Pass Toyota received my email and within a few hours he and his manager had found a few possible vehicle options that met my families’ criteria. We were ecstatic that within mere minutes of speaking with Paul he was able to not only find the vehicle we were seeking but also did all the leg work in getting it transferred to the Grants Pass Toyota dealership. Once the vehicle arrived at Grants Pass Toyota their mechanics went over the vehicle thoroughly to ensure it was a well maintained and working vehicle for our family. The detail shop also went through and cleaned the vehicle for us. Paul also had a local car paint shop fix a few blemishes on the vehicle with no charge to my family. Paul also ordered an extra key fob at no extra fee as well. The entire process of Grants Pass Toyota delivering the vehicle to us and working with finance and banking took no more than 2 hours. The process was quick, efficient and stress free. We will only be using Grants Pass Toyota as our car dealership for all our vehicle needs from now on, even though we live 30 minutes away Grants Pass Toyota excellent customer service is worth the drive.

I bought a used certified Tacoma from Wheeler a few months ago. I was told buying a "certified" vehicle was better because they checked it over better and it came with a 1 year bumper-to-bumper warranty. The day I drove it off the lot, I heard a scraping sound while applying the break and a hum from the same wheel while not applying the break. I brought it in within the same week and they said nothing was wrong, just some glaze over the disc. The problem returned in a week. Unfortunately I was out of state for a few months, so I had to wait until I got back. When I brought it back, I explained the problem occurred off and on, so they might not hear it if they just take it for a trip around the block once. I recommended they drive it a few miles on the highway. Well, they called me and said nothing was wrong with it and they didnt hear any noises at all. I recorded the mileage before I dropped it off and checked when I picked it up; they didnt even drive it for 1 mile. Of course as soon as I got a few miles out, the noises started up again. Id bring it back again but its an inconvenience as they dont provide a loaner car. And, while its covered under the warranty and they dont make any money off me for labor/repairs, I have a feeling they will say theres nothing wrong with it again. Ill probably just have to eat the cost myself and take it into a regular mechanic.
