I didnt think it was possible for a store to be more expensive than Sundance or Market of Cost--I mean, Choice, but Natural Grocers proved me wrong. Yes, the produce is very good but that alone is the only reason Id consider going there, once I sold a kidney to pay for it of course. The place is small, the selection is small, but the prices are astronomical. The only reason they have any customers at all is because its easy to bring rich hippies into such a place. They have some paleo-friendly hot breakfast cereal stuff there that came out to about $5 per serving, $25 for the whole bag. Just skipping that breakfast and eating normal food instead could buy one a namaste-approved, shade-grown organic biodynamic bamboo bicycle oiled with rainbows in a year. Their "bulk" section of not remotely bulk but instead, prepackaged stuff, does have the best chamomile flowers Ive had since I grew my own years ago, so they get a star for that. Im sure everything there is the mega-turbo best quality, or at least it better be, or they better be sneaking tiny gold nuggets into everything to make the prices less hilarious. I could feel the smug sense of eco-entitlement creeping up on me, so I zoomed past the racks of magazines with names like "Holistic Natural EcoHealth Weekly", "Meta-Quantum Chi Empowerment Magazine", and "Expensive Cleanses Illustrated" to pay $85 for one bag of groceries so I could get out of there. I normally give businesses two chances, but not this place. I have only one first-born by definition and I dont want to trade an organ for each bag of groceries so I cant afford to give them a second chance. Namaste, maan.

My boyfriend and I used to love this place. It was great, it had that wonderful natural grocery store smell when we walked in that reminded me of one of the stores I would go to in my home town. All the staff seemed friendly to us and eager to help us out. We agreed the prices were cheaper in the produce department compared to market of choice and Fred Meyer. But most other items including Nancys yogurt were over priced. They offered most things we needed although we thought they lacked in the meat and cheese department . We like to grocery shop when we are practically starving, of course. So when we shop, we open a thing or two and snack on them which I am aware some may think is a big no, no. But we do this at other stores and they are okay with it because we ALWAYS pay for it. Recently, though, they know us at natural grocers, they have started sending there staff to almost ever isle we are on to check on us. It is rude and and blatantly obvious we are being closely watched. At check-out, the staff members have been less friendly to us too. We were willing to look over the fact that everything, including produce now (went up recently)is more expensive than elsewhere because we loved the environment and friendly staff. We decided no, we are going to shop elsewhere.

I love that all the produce is organic and most is grown here in the northwest, and the quality is really good. Although I garden, and often shop at farmers markets, I have to admit that their produce is really good quality, and reasonably priced. I also really like the fact that they take the extra care to refrigerate fresh nuts, seeds, and flours. (So often at other stores these items are just sitting out on the shelf or bulk bin to degrade.) While I dont buy a lot of processed food, Ive noticed that they do have a large selection, lots of frozen entrees, and all the usual organic canned goods. The staff is friendly; every time Im there it seems like people are asking me if I need help finding anything. check out people are personable. Oh, and the prices are better than Market of Choice. The only drawback to this store is their location - its a little weird getting into the parking lot from Coburg Rd.

Where do I begin... When you buy the last of something, fat chance it will be restocked by the next trip, if at all. Prices are way high. Just saw a bottle of Cranberry Juice for over $10! Wtf? Staff is less than enthusiastic. With the exception of two. The girl with the dreads is always helpful. And either Travis or Trevor that checks us out is pretty good. Absolutely NO ONE has any sense of urgency. Takes forever to check out. Never had to re-slide my payment card because of timing out like i always do here. Checkers think they need to strategically put each item in a place. Even taking things out of bags and rearranging them. And after assuring them we have plenty of bags and arent particular where things go. It ridiculous. Gave them 2 stars because at least they carry Organic and Non GMO products. All I can say is.... Come on WHOLE FOODS!

While this store has a good premise with organic this and thats, the staff at the front end does not reflect well. There has not been one time checking out at this store that my entire shopping experience has been completely shattered. Example: I asked the checker how her day was. Her response, "In reference to what?" Other checkers, after working there since the store opening, are still referring to their produce code chart, slowing down the check out process considerably. I am a business owner and always hire friendly, nice people to represent myself and our companies in the best possible manner. The last encounter at a grocery store is check out and that feeling sticks with a person, 6 times was enough for me, I wont be back.

Great idea for a grocery store, but some of their prices are pretty high compared to the other markets in the area. For example, Nancys yogurt is about three dollars more per large tub than the local competitors. Basically, be aware of what youre paying for. The part that really bothers me and my family is one of the checker/stockers (a female brunette that looks like shes in her 30s) has a huge headfull of dreads. We think its pretty disgusting that somebody that obviously doesnt value personal hygiene is handling everyone elses food. This is on top of the fact the shes always wearing the same clothes each time we are in there, and we had been shopping there one to two times a week.

These guys are awesome. There have been three occasions where they carry the brand I like but not the flavor is scent that is the one I buy. When I asked if they could get the one that I want they were happy to fill out a little card with my request. All three times about a week later I get a call from them saying "we got the product you requested in". So cool. The produce has the lowest prices in town by far. Sometimes being about 1/2 as much as market of choice. Seriously onions, carrots, beets, limes half the price!! And the produce section is

I love this place!!! Their service is excellent and their prices are MUCH better than Super Supplements down the road. Not only that, they offer more of a variety. I made the mistake of buying a bottle of vitamins in Super Supplements and when I went in, with my receipt to exchange it I was treated horribly. With Natural Grocers it was easy. I purchased an essential oil burner that was too small and they gladly exchanged it, no questions asked. Their prices for grass fed organic meats are very competitive as well. So glad theyre here!
