******************************UPDATE(12/28/11): I must say that Sunset Audi really is trying… After having a horrible experience right off, Sunset has made an effort to try and make things right. After getting a personal phone call from the operations manager and having what seemed like a sincere and authentic conversation, I do feel like the company truly wants to make up for the actions of a rogue employee. After much deliberation, my husband and I have made the decision to give Sunset another chance in the hopes that they can correct a terrible first impression and create a lasting relationship with us as customers. I have to commend them for making the effort and I do hope that this time around, things are different. I am a hard person to persuade, but so far they are back on the right track. ********************ORIGINAL POST NOVEMBER 2011: My husband and I had the displeasure of dealing with Sunset Audi this weekend. Despite all the horror stories we had heard and being warned against dealing with Sunset by our close friends, we decided to give them a chance and judge for ourselves - and boy, was everybody right. We initially met and worked with a VERY nice young man named Ryan Crooks. He was knowledgeable and very informative. We found a car that seemed to fit our needs perfectly and Ryan was helpful in giving us the information we needed to make an informed decision. After deliberating overnight, we decided to return to Sunset to start the process. Completely versed in the "typical" cay buying experience, we were fully prepared to go back and forth negotiating a mutually beneficial price on the CPO 2009 A5. As smart and rational buyers, we did our homework and came prepared. After what seemed to be a fruitless negotiation initially, we were introduced to the floor manager, Dan Fajardo - who was by far the RUDEST and most DISRESPECTFUL salesperson I have ever encountered in my life. Within 5 minutes he managed to yell at us, accuse us of lying about the terms of the previous lease on the vehicle (even though we had paperwork and a car fax to prove otherwise), cut us off mid-sentence and get up and walk out of the conversation. I have never felt so degraded and demeaned in my life. There are not enough appropriate words to accurately convey how completely awful Dan and the whole experience was. It seems that at Sunset Audi, if you dont fit the "luxury car" persona, you dont deserve the time of day. Needless-to-say we will never set foot in Sunset again. We will be taking our money and our business to Seattle and purchasing a car from University Audi. I encourage anyone else in the area to do the same.

Today was a final straw with SI, the Audi side I have heard good things and have experience awhile back myself, even though ended up purchasing a Porsche at the end, but the Porsche side is the worst, I had been warned of this before too. I have heard some so mad, they made the drive to Bend, Or (Carrera Motors) or all the way up to Seattle area (Barrier in Bellevue & Porsche of Tacoma) to make their purchases! But unfortunately they had the car I wanted and at the price I wanted at the time! But they ripped me off on my trade in then and tried to treat me similar again today when I was considering another trade in, but this time I learned my lesson and canceled the deal on a used 996 GT3. The same yahoo that has been their Sales Manager for awhile there now, has very limited knowledge of cars and does no research to support his offers, so if you have a trade in, do your personal research first! It all ended when this yahoo came back with an uneducated offer that basically was an outright insult because he knew nothing of the car and nothing of the upgrades that it had, so he made an assumption on his part with his limited knowledge! His figure was $10K off what he called "the market value", he knew nothing of what professional upgraded version of the car it was, they are rare and hard to find, maybe he was thinking of an average model in this line of vehicle but then never bother to look at the true market value thru research which would have made him aware of how off he really was and with this in mind, still didnt include the rareness and the overall upgraded value really was worth. They screwed me on my AMG I traded in but today overall was the final straw, it was the lack of respect as a former customer whom purchased a new vehicle from there that seemed to mean nothing to this certain individual. Of course it was followed up from a complaint to the General Manager of SI calling back and asking if I would reconsider the purchase, he would work with me and treat me as a valued customer which was proper and professional, but you figure someone whom has been with the company as long as this yahoo had, he might have picked up on his boss professionalism instead of allowing him to try and pick up the pieces afterwards. Next time I will make the drive to Bend! Be a nice drive back anyways in another new Porsche! But the service dept there is top notch and seems to have the proper bearing on how to take care of the customer, so if you have any warranty repairs, go see the team of experts they have on board there!

DO NOT GET ANY SERVICE DONE HERE, especially if your are FEMALE! The service department is a complete joke. I dont know if they thought they could screw me over so badly because I am a female or if their automotive technicians are just that incompetent. I have never received such horribly inaccurate diagnostics that they wanted to charge me thousands of dollars to repair. As a full-time college student I could barely cover the diagnostic bill let alone afford to have them make all of the so called needed repairs. Having a small amount of automotive knowledge I went to youtube to attempt some of the repairs myself. Thats when I became very upset. I discovered that 2 of the 5 issues I wanted investigated were not accurately diagnosed. My rear seat-back latch they told me needed to be replaced (for over $200) was not even broken! It required a minor adjustment and tightening to the bolt onto which it latches and poof, works just like new. They completely lied about the leak from my windshield washing fluid reservoir stating the leak was along the line to my headlights. I took the whole bumper off my audi allroad, inspected the entire system to the headlights, and finally removed the reservoir to find that it was simply the main windshield pump that was leaking. A repair that costed $30, took 10 minutes and that didnt require the removal of the entire front bumper (4hrs of my Saturday I should have been studying). On top of all of this I was told I would not be charged for certain diagnostics as they forgot to investigate one of the issues on my list, this was not the case. I was still charged the $152 for the ONE hour of inaccurate diagnosis. The other 3 issues they technician couldnt figure out and wanted me to approve an additional 3 hours of diagnostic time at $152/hr to continue his investigation. I quickly declined, picked up my car, paid my ridiculous bill and sped away as fast as I could. DO NOT GET ANY SERVICE DONE HERE, especially if your are female! This place is a joke. Maybe they are trying to pay for that fancy new facility by ripping off their costumers???
