I will state that Im biased. I came to Columbus in 1985 and found Buckeye Donuts on High Street on Campus. I moved into Merion Village in 2013 and found The Merion Village Buckeye Donuts on South High Street. SAD SITUATION AT THE SOUTH HIGH, MERION VILLAGE, LOCATION.......NO BATHROOM. Im unsure if thats even legal. COFFEE...amazing coffee. It really is. However, you must pay for each individual cup....its not a coffee cup that gets refilled like in a Diner. DONUTS... A. Theyll make for you anything that you need to have if its different from what is available as long as shells are available. B. TASTE IS ALWAYS FRESH, FILLINGS ARE PLENTIFUL, VARIETY IS MORE THAN EXPECTED, COST HAS REMAINED LOW, FRESHNESS IS KEY. C. Service has always been kind, attentive and thankful D. South High, Merion Village, location HAS A DRIVE THRU....YES!! E. 24 Hour Availability...ALWAYS open... F. The Campus Location serves Food where Merion Village location does not. In todays world I dont believe the younger generation has the history with donuts like my generation does. Donut Shops, donut holes, Long Johns or Bismarcks are words that have always been in my vocabulary. Ive been know to stroll into BUCKEYE DONUTS like at 4 a.m. .... No explanation needed...a large purchase topped off the night.

theres honestly not much wrong with this hole in the wall. (using that idiom as a means to illustrate its enjoyable night culture) it musters up loveable and nostalgic memories of beloved movies and television shows that youve seen. the menu generously greets you smiling like the street vendor you get you daily coffe from. even the menu is very comforting, with gyros, samosas, mozzarella sticks, savoury doughnuts that pair so nicely with the whole milk that you can buy its just

Interesting variety with red velvet and pb donuts along with the classics. The donuts are okay. Theyre better than store donuts, but noticed they do taste a bit oily, the cream was a bit cloying, and they are heftier than we like. Couldnt finish the fritter - too heavy and doughy like a bread roll and no apples. Definitely wouldnt turn the donuts down if offered, but can get better. Side street parking can be tricky, but we got a meter easily and walked.

The donut shop is less than 3 miles from my location, yet refused to deliver. They took my order over the phone and didnt tell me until after that delivery is impossible, yet advertised it on their website. Extremely disappointed. This particular shop on High St. has always been a mediocre experience, but we needed a last minute delivery for a social function. From now on I will stick to the places where we can get better services, and fresher foods.

Ive tried many amazing donut shops in various different cities, and Buckeye Donuts remains one of my favorites! They make the simple donuts to perfection; the cake donuts are perfectly textured. They occasionally have some really unique donuts that never disappoint. Of course THE Buckeye donut is one of the best if youre a fan of peanut butter. You really cant go wrong with any donut here, and thats why I always pay them a visit when Im in Columbus.

Love Buckeye Donuts! Every donut Ive tasted there has been delicious; my favorite is the BLueberry Cake or during the fall they have a pumpkin cake one with cream cheese frosting...yum. Gyros are pretty good as are the breakfast sandwiches and coffee! Super cheap, great combos, chill atmosphere and perfect place to go to have a quick breakfast, lowkey hangout, or to wind down after a night our. Friendly staff & good vibes.

O.M.G. A-MAZING. My sister came to visit me from out of state and I took her here. We tried a couple other donut places while she was here too. Lets just say she made me take her back there before leaving. Absolutely loved it. Their vanilla cream and strawberry filled donuts are my faves! I have had a chicken pita there before (they serve a lot more than just donuts), and it was meh. So its really all about the donuts.

Buckeye Donuts is an awesome place for a donut, a breakfast sandwich, or a gyro. The employees are always friendly, the place is usually clean, and while there can be a bit of a wait at lunch, service is usually quick. The apple fritter is only okay, not a game changer. But all of their donuts are fresh, and their specialty donuts are fun and tasty. Also try the steak and egg breakfast sandwich--hot and yummy.

worst idea I have ever had. Me and my friends were super excited to have buckeye donuts because we had had them before and were very good. First it took almost an hour to get our food. The donuts were over fried. The chicken tenders were so greasy they were actually using yellow grease. The fries were disgusting. I honestly wasnt expecting this and I wont be having their food ever again.

Just simply a classic and must visit spot if you are at THE Ohio State University. This donut shop has been around for over 60 years and is filled with history and tradition. Its your classic small diner. Its open 24/7 and a fan favorite for your late night drunken eats. If you visit a donut is a must, but definitely try a gyro as they compete (if not better) with Apollos or Happy Greek.

Ordered delivery, so maybe the in store experience will be better. However my food was about a two hour wait for the initial order. By the time I received the order the food was cold. My order was not correct. Overall disappointed with the service and my suggestion is that if you order do no do so with the delivery service.

Only review worth writing. This place is the bees-knees man, I come here before class for a nice breakfast or lunch, or after a night out, and its always consistently greasy and good. Buckeye donuts is more than just a restaurant, its a campus staple, and a beacon of hope for hungry, drunk, or hungover students.

Not the place you go for organic food however for the 3% of indulgence we should all afford ourselves this place is great. There is a set cast customers real characters that they seem to have at the counter some of life less fortunates they seem to be looking out for as well, big hearted old school folks.

Buckeye Donuts is a Columbus/campus institution. This place has a lot of history! Ask the owner for a story if you get the chance. The food is good, but nothing to write home about. It tends to get really crowded around meal times and late at night when there are few good food options around.

I have always enjoyed an occasional donut but I have never really love donuts until I have gone went to Buckeye donuts. More than the donuts though their breakfasts are outstanding and the price is great. And the customer service is the bomb. One of my favorite places to go in the morning

A campus institution! Great, unique donuts that are harder and harder to find as chains take over in so many places. Good breakfasts as well. All you have to see is the line around the block on game day as everyone comes back to campus to see how much people love this place.
