When i walked into the store to pick up a car battery that I paid for online, the store was kind of dark inside, and none of the employees were particularly friendly, alert, or eager to help. . The worst offender was the employee that "helped" me. He was in no hurry, and was actually looked put out when I explained why I was there. After finally getting the battery, we headed out to my car. I had already popped the hood, but the employee told me to pop my trunk. Huh? "Why? Arent you going to install it?". "We dont install batteries" he replied. When I said "I dont know how to install a battery" the employees reply was: "Well neither do I!. "What should I do?" I asked before he could retreat back into the store. I was told that I had to go to Advance Auto about a mile away. No apology for my inconvenience. When I walked into Advance, the atmosphere was the exact opposite of what I experienced at Carquest. The store was brightly lit, the employees were friendly, eager to help, and communicated with me. I did have to wait for them to figure out why Carquest couldnt install the battery that I bought from them. Once that was done,. the employee carefully installed my battery, and then he asked me to open my trunk to put the old one in. Why? I should be getting my core refund. Advance couldnt give me my core charge back because I had bought the battery from Carquest (despite the fact that Advance took over Carquest? ). I said OK Ill head there now,, but was told that they were already closed for the day (7 PM), and I would have to come back another day to return the battery and get my core charge back. The Carquest on CB was a total waste of my time. The lackadaisical attitude of the employees in inconsistent with my previous experiences with Advance. If I didnt have to go back to get my core charge (its the one closest to me), I would never set foot in that store again.
