These are some of the best meat products to be found not just in Western NC, but all along the East Coast. The shop offers strictly local, fresh, and GMO-free meats cut from whole animals. Few other stores can make the same promises about their products, even though it is such an important standard to set against modern, conventional meat production practices. Ann supplies customers with not only meats ranging from beef, pork, lamb, chicken, duck, rabbit, and goat, but also provides locally-produced baked goods, spreads, organic produce, and artwork. The Rose Mountain Butcher Shoppe is a true pioneer into the local food movement. It is a business both fully supportive of the local community, and honestly committed to serving healthy and delicious foods as an alternative to the dangers of the failing modern food industry.

I just visited this shop. When I entered the shop, there was an employee at the front door who barely acknowledged myself, or the others with me. I was looking to purchase NY strips and filets for my family. As we stood in front of the meat counter in the back, the same employee walked employee walked past again basically ignoring us. At this time, I would not visit this location again.
