The shop itself is eclectic inside, which is usually very cool for a coffee shop. I found this particular shop to have a little too much going on. You can barely walk through the shop. They do have a puzzle table, checkers table, empty tables and an outside seating area which is nice. The woman running the shop was pleasant enough, but not overly so. I ordered a 16oz mocha and paid Starbucks prices. I dont mind paying that much for a latte, but was a little surprised. The drink itself was just ok. I appreciate the fact that they were open at 7AM, no place else on the island seemed to be. For this reason Im giving 4-stars. I think considering location and lack of competition makes it a 4-star venue. If located in a busier market with more competition Id probably rate 2-3 stars. Im not sure Id bother making a special trip to this shop again.

Didnt get to try the coffee... the sign on the door indicated this was a cash only establishment, so my family had to turn around. Since the majority of people tend not to write any review at all, consider the number of other potential customers that walk away due to the cash only policy. Square, Apple Pay, Quickbooks, Google Pay, Freestanding ATM (Debit Cards), and credit-cards are just a few of the possible cash-alternatives that could work for you, with low-to-zero fees for you and cash-paying customers.

Ive been going to OKI for about 10 years now and my vacation is never complete without going to Flying Pig! I am never disappointed. The staff is always very friendly and the drinks are always tasty. There is something for everyone here but my favorite is the "Milky Way" frozen. Its a small building with a big personality! Check out the drawings of the flying pigs too! Best coffee shop!

Love this place, Ive been going here for 11 years and they have never served bad coffee. They also have great pastries and smoothies and other treats. The atmosphere is great, lots of local art and pictures. It feels like home. Ive known the owner, Becky forever and she is so nice and provides the best service

Great place with great family atmosphere. Iced lattes are delicious and I try a different one every time......snickerdoodle is my favorite. My kids love the smoothies. We visit every time we are in oak island. Some days you have to be patient. The lines can get long and everything is hand crafted.

Had a wonderful visit here. Lots of locals and tourists to chat with. Decadent cinnamon roll with sweet cream. Eclectic and CUTE decor. Everywhere you look theres some little intriguing piece of piggery. Loved it. Went back a second day. Highly recommend.

Non-locals be warned, they only take cash. But otherwise great place! They made my drink wrong the first time but given the line was backed up and they make drinks based on memory alone it was overall good.

Waited 30+ min for a latte. 1 person making drinks memorial day weekend. Didnt even warn in advance of the delay at the cash register. Terrible traffic flow though space. Overall, really bad experience.

A little overpriced. But the coffee is very good, and it is a truly laid back neighborhood feel. We stop in frequently when on the island. CASH ONLY, and only open until 11 in the morning.
