Definately recommend! I have wanted Long hair for a very long time but my hair has been growing very slow. I decided to come here and see what kind of extensions they do and their price range. Btw, you have to make an appointment. Carmelo, who I believe is the owner, kindly showed me the extensions and began to put them in. It was 7$ a piece which I thought wow that wasnt bad at all. My hair is in layers but since the extensions were super long he snipped a little here and there and wow how he worked some magic! I felt so beautiful! I was really pleased with my hair. He blow dryed it, straightened it, and cut it and all I payed for were the extensions. Very friendly staff, they all talk with you and they are very genuine. I made an appointment to return in a week to put more extensions in. I look forward to seeing Carmelo and his staff again. Id give this place a 10 out of 10! Great work!!

Dont be discouraged by the store front-- which alludes to an overstuffed hair supply place, complete with mannequin heads and some silly signs. I went with my friend for a birthday haircut at Xanadu, and the older man (who generally seems to be the manager at the store) came from behind the counter to do her haircut. He was fun and energetic, along with the clientele we saw there. He had experience with cutting hair, although I cant speak for the other staff. Its cheap and a little charming, and a good cut!

Went to the Xanadu Hair cutters & Beauty Supply downtown, had a pleasant experience but the haircut was eh.And it was from someone that everyone recommended.BUT then i went to the one on 57th and met the owner, Rodney.He was AMAZING very pricey for a ens haircut but WELL worth it.Made me feel like a model.

They have a huge sign that says "Walk-Ins welcome" so, I walked in and waited for 12 minutes.. no one in the back cutting hair. I was told that the person taking care of walk-ins went to the deli to get something to eat and will be back in maybe 10 minutes!! Are you kidding me? Will not return!!!!

I keep trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt but my family and I hate this place. From bad haorcuts, to having to tell the stylist (who has been there forever) how to do the cut I wanted, to the rude staff, I finally give up. Dont recommend them at all.

This is a terrific family owned shop, where you can get a great haircut for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend it!
