For Christmas we ordered a chateaubriand with a salt, pepper, garlic rub. I have never cooked one before and was nervous spending $170 on something I never cooked. On the phone AND in the shop the guys told me to let it sit out for 2 hours to get to room temperature and then cook it for 30 minutes for rare and 34 minutes for well done. Directions like that are so specific, I figured they knew what they were doing. And the meat in the tin they gave it to me in had rosemary twigs and some other leafy herb, so I didnt question the meat rub. On Christmas, I followed their directions, prepared all my other side dishes to be ready for when the chateaubriand would come out of the oven. Well, we took it out after 32 minutes and it was raw. We ended up cooking it for 55 minutes, dinner was late, guests needed to leave to get to other houses, dessert guests were arriving during dinner, and my side dishes were all cold. ANd to top it off there was NO flavoring on the meat at all. NO salt, no pepper, no garlic. NOTHING. I have since tested my oven with a thermometer and it is fine. Cakes, breads, cookies, chicken, other meats come out fine according to their directions. We called My Butcher II a few days after Christmas and all that was said was "Were sorry for your inconvenience." There was no remorse, nothing. It was very insulting. The only reason I did give two stars instead of one is that the meat was extremely tender if youre into very rare beef or tartare. I was excited about finding a good butcher - this was not it.

This past summer I joined a farmers market exchange called Farm 2 Kitchen. One of the items they sold was pork, beef and duck bacon. These come frozen in vacuum sealed packaging with a slapped on label that doesnt even say which type of bacon it is nor does it provide a weight or packing date. When I purchased them in June and July they were advertised as 1 pound packages. Just recently (the first week of October 2013) the ad had a typo, it read 12 ounces in one place and 1 pound in another. I contacted a friend who had just recently bought bacon through F2K sometime late August early September with the same 1 pound advertising. She decided to weigh her pack that she still had oin her freezer and it came out to be 8 ounces or so WITH the packaing. SO it prompted me to take my still frozen packages from June and July and weigh them. I came up with 8.2 ounces incluuding the vacuum packaing and tray! When I asked F2K to bring this to My Buthcers attention they came back with a response stating of that were sorry and if I were to buy from them again they would rectify this issue! WTF??? Are they kidding me??? Stay clear of thieves!

12/24/2010 This place is horrible. i went to pick up my order and i had to wait more than an hour. the staff was unable to locate any orders in their computer and the ones they found were wrong. i ordered a turduckin which was presented without instructions. the price they tried to charge me was 20 dollars more than the original quote. i forced them to lower the price. the clerk behind the counter, the only one working out of 10 that were present told me not to get mad because it was Christmas. ( i guess that means terrible service is ok). i spoke to guests at my dinner party, turns out the prices charged by the place are very high. The cannolis were horrible, they say all products baked on site. If they were fresh...they should give up baking. Typical, no price on most of the baked goods and when you as everyone asks someone else until it sounds good what they want to charge you. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

Simply put, this place is the best. Quality meats, the best ingredients and friendly neighborhood service. What more could you want from a local butcher? No matter what you try from soup to salads to sandwiches (and the list goes on and on), nothing ever disappoints. And of course, the meat is truly amazing. If you live nearby and are buying your meat at the supermarket, you are getting ripped off. The quality at My Butcher is unmatched. The store itself is super clean and staff is awesome - extremely friendly and eager to help. The negative reviews on here are in now way indicative of the daily experience at My Butcher - I have been a loyal customer for three years now and have never had an unsatisfying experience. I look forward to shopping at My Butcher for many, many years.

I have nothing but positive things to say about My Butcher. When you go in there you feel like you stepped back in time. They are family run and they cant do enough for you. They always know your name and they make you feel like youre part of their family. And their food is ALWAYS delicious! I use them all the time and have also had them cater my sisters baby shower and everyone raved about the food. If you want that old fashioned personal attention this is the place to be.

My friends had a pig roast yesterday and we got the pig from My Butcher. They were really helpful with tips on how to cook it and it came out great. I have been there a few times to get steaks and chicken and the quality has always been great. They also make really great salads. The store itself is really nice and people are always helpful. I would recommend them to anyone.
