I was treated incredibly well. I had a friend go with me, and Chip was amazing to us both. Ive been in the shop twice, once for my first tattoo, back on Sept 30th, and once for my friend who got her second Artifex tattoo a few weeks later. Hes a wonderful artist who stands by his work, which shows with his free touch ups policy. I will be going in again for a touch up and tattoo soon. I was worried by a couple reviews online, but I cant figure out where theyre coming from. But honestly, my only complaint is that I need to get my tattoo touched up(which is more because of my skin, not Chip), but its free. I cant really complain about that, and every other aspect of the place, from the other people working there, to the atmosphere, to Chips skill and care in his work, is perfect, so it gets a perfect score in my book.

Only Custom Tattoos.. I really spent a month looking around for a tattoo artist. Some places were rated great, but when you walk in, it was like they were doing it as a 9-5 job. When I walked in here, the atmosphere and just the way Chip explained the process was very calming for my first tattoo. Throughout the process, he explained how to take care of it. He doesnt have any tattoo designs books, and this was a very custom design that I wanted to make. Their slogan of only doing custom work caught my attention. I am very pleased! And hopefully will go back some day...

Everything about my Artifex experience was wonderful....The way I was treated, the atmosphere, and quality of work....The tattoo I got far exceeded my expectations....I absolutely love it!! Its evident that Chip is highly skilled and experienced and a great guy. This was my first tattoo and I felt totally comfortable throughout the entire experience. I cant say enough great things about Chip and Artifex....I plan to get another tattoo and I wont go to anyone else....I will be forever singing his praises!!

The lady at front is very nice. Chip, on the other hand, is just all about getting you in and out. He had me scheduled for an hour and a half for my tattoo, but quickly banged it out in 45 minutes. It was so sloppy that when I went back for a touch up, he had to use flesh colored ink to hide some of his mistakes, which made it even worse. Now someone else is going to fix it. I would not recommend Chip. He just doesnt care anymore.

I just got my first tattoo and Im so happy that Chip did it! He was so great. Instead of beating around the bush, he stays realistic and tells you the honest truth, which made me very comfortable. Best place ever to get a beautiful tattoo!!

I have my whole back, side, and the inside of my arm done by Chip and I love my tats. Great atmosphere, and free touch ups for life which means he guarantees what he does. As long as I live in Binghamton I will go to Artifex for my ink.
