As stated in other comments, never, ever get any video game system repaired at Oogie Games. I took in my Xbox 360 and which had the E74 error to them and I trusted their website which said, and I quote, "Specializes in Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 repair." Hm, no. A week after getting it back, my 360 failed again so I opened it up myself and to my utter dismay, found they had used the common Youtube fix known as the penny trick. This takes 30 minutes worth of work and costs legitimately 5 cents + man hours and I was charged $80. I went back to the store after closing it back up and simply said it failed again. Upon getting it back a few days later I instantly opened it up and found that the pennies were still there and the only other change was that the fan had been soldered to the motherboard in an attempt to prevent the Xbox from overheating. So I put it back together and it worked great for about another two weeks until it started acting up and quickly thereafter died again. So I went back to Oogie again and simply said it had died once more. I was told that after two "repairs" there was nothing their servicemen could do to fix the problem and all they could do was refund me my $80 in store credit. They also elected to keep my broken system (which sells for ~30 bucks). In recap, nice store and friendly workers but simply cannot be trusted for repairs. They used a known temporary fix that costed them pennies (literally) and had the nerve to charge $80 for it. I have used my $80 in store credit on Microsoft Points so Oogie itself sees next to no profit from my business and refuse to buy anything from them ever again.

I was expecting this place to be a total rip-off of GameStop / EB Games... Boy was I wrong. They sell all sorts of video games here, all the way back to Atari. The store was very clean, the employees greeted me when I walked in (which never happens at GameStop) and asked if I needed help finding anything, although they didnt badger me. I was at the Lockport location a couple of weeks ago and they had a tournament or something going on in their game room. It was freakin sweet! Everyone looked like they were having a blast and I totally would of played if the tournament hadnt started already. I ended up buying a few games for my 360 and they all played just fine. I was told by the (manager?) Eric that Oogie opened up a new store in Depew... so I figured Id stop by a couple weeks later. That store was awesome! It was super clean, about double the size of the Lockport store, and the employees were very friendly. I brought my Black Ops there because it had gotten a scratch-ring on it and they buffed it out and tested for me. FOR FREE. I was very taken aback that they didnt charge me anything. I would definitely recommend any of their stores to any video game lover.

They have lots of older systems, and even more older games. The staff were extremely nice and didnt treat me like they were the all knowing gamer I didnt know anything about games. I took a controller in that I had tried modding on my own with a kit I bought online. I suck at soldering and thought what the hell. They were so nice to take a look at it, and let me know if they could get it going for me. They called me and explained that the wires that came with the mod kit were very weak and simply didnt solder properly. Not only did they put thicker wires on it, and fix my horrible soldering, they also put it all together for me...and didnt even charge me! I love these guys. My personal experience there was wonderful. I would recommend the Transit Rd. location simply because of the friendly staff and amazing repair guys there. The only reason I gave a 4 star rating, is because the game prices are still just a little too high for my taste. They also should have some sort of shade on the windows of the store, they are allowing the sun to ruin the game cases and cover art!!!

Do NOT get repairs done here. They do not know anything about proper techniques. They have the same repair knowledge as the mall kiosk repair people. I do professional repairs on my own but was curious to see how they would diagnose a bad ps3 laser. They found that the laser was bad (as I already knew) but they replaced the whole bluray drive! Anyone who knows anything about game systems knows that you cannot do that, ever. The motherboard within the bluray drive is married with the ps3 motherboard, and if you replace the bluray motherboard, you wont be able to load any discs, and you wont be able to launch anything from the xmb (PlayStation home screen) since the motherboards need to be married. Ive also seen them repair Xbox 360 disc drives with Scotch tape and chewing gum. Oh, and the prices are ridiculous. All they needed to do was replace a $10 laser and it had never taken me more than 15 minutes.

I went into the store in Depew and the employees there were absolutely fantastic. I recently went in there with my younger sister to buy her some used games for her DS system and they were so patient and understanding. My sister has autism and I have never been to a store where employees actually took the time to help me and my sister find what we were looking for. They let us try some games right in the store until my sister found a game she really liked. Unfortunately I do not remember the employees names but one has spiked dark hair and the other a shaved head. Not only is Oogie local, but they actually act as if they care about their customers. Highly recommend them!

My son received a gift certificate for his birthday so we went there and bought a pre-owned game. We got home it didnt work, brought it back the next day they wouldnt exchange it. They stated we had caused damage to the game which my son never did anything out try to load the game. The staff was rude and basically calling my 10 year old on his birthday a lier. All he wanted was to exchange the game.. We ended up going to Game stop and buying the same game and guarteed if it didnt work we could bring it back.. We will never shop there again they do not stand behind their product and sell Defective products at the consumers expense.

Oogie Games is a great place to find used video games. I recently moved to the area, so I wasnt too familiar with the stores. I went to Oogie first, and Im glad I did. I was greeted when I entered, and was offered help anytime I needed it. The staff seemed to be knowledgeable. I found that the prices were better than Play N Trade, right across the street. Whatever games I could not find, the staff offered to search other stores and their warehouse to find it. Overall, it was a great experience.

Stores awesome! They have a very good mix of everything from old to new. Lots of NES and SNES games along with all types of Gameboy games and all the new stuff as well. Prices are decent. They could be a little better but thats what you get with a non-chain store. The people are also really friendly. Always helping me out and getting me a good deal it I buy multiple items. Its definitely a nice place to go to if youre tired of all the chain stores out there.
