I drove all the way from Rochester to specifically come to this store. After driving for an hour and a half walking into the store and being told that the wait for a dressing room would be an hour to and hour and a half was automatically a little annoying. However, it wasnt hard for me to see that there were a surplus of dresses crammed on the racks, and I figured that I would surely find a dress among them. So I decided to stick it out and wait the hour. Walking through the store was extremely difficult with at least 25 other girls and their posses roaming the store in addition to myself. Sifting through the racks for what ended up being two hours, nearly double what I was told when I walked through the door, I began realizing that it was going to be extremely difficult to find dresses in my size, either an 8 or a 10, because the majority of the dresses were 0s, 2s, and 4s. The dresses that I ended up pulling in my size seemed to be a little worse for wear, several of them having holes, missing beading, or being soiled. I believe that the dresses have been picked over for quite sometime, thus the limit in sizes. When I was finally brought to a fitting room and the consultant asked me what I was looking for I told her my size and that I was open to anything with the exception of nude and black dresses, because the wash me out, and a red dress, because that was the color of the dress I had the year before. As she began to pull me suggestions to try on I felt that she was completely disregarding what I had said, as almost all of the dresses she pulled were either red, black, or nude. Thinking that she may have misunderstood me I reminded her that those were not colors I was interested, yet the next time she returned to the room she again brought me a black dress! I left the store feeling extremely discouraged by the pushy, and somewhat rude, consultants and ended up heading to a smaller boutique just 7 minutes down the road (spybaby) where I bought a beautiful dress for my prom! Giving boom babies the benefit of the doubt I understand that on week days they are much less crowded and this their consultants are able to be more engaged/spend more time with customers. I will also admit that the dresses they had in the store were no doubt very beautiful, they just seem to gear the sizes of the dresses they carry towards smaller framed girls. Ultimately my experience was an unpleasant one and I would not recommend boom babies.

Hi, my name is Judayah and I love Boom Babies. Around this time last year I began the search for the perfect dress for my Sweet Sixteen. I decided earlier in the month that my partys theme would be a Black & White Masquerade Ball. I wanted everyone to show up in plain colors so my dress would clearly contrast. Ideally, I was looking for a short, fun look. Actually, I had an aqua-mirror Sherri Hill dress in mind. Every store I tried was fresh out of stock with the dress! Just my luck right? One of my fellow marching band members gave me the tip to try Boom Babies in Syracuse, NY. I had never heard of the store, as I am from a much smaller town also located in New York. But because Im adventurous, I tried it anyway. Can I tell you that every Sherri Hill dress I had seen online was in your store? May I please inform everyone that Boom Babies hires only the most cordial, helpful, and fashion-inclined workers? From the moment I walked in I felt like I was a priority. My dressing room assistant brought maybe 20 dresses in for me to try on. I felt like I was literally in heaven! A part about Boom Babies that I love, however, is how much I learn about myself in each visit. As said before, I was looking for a short and fun dress. The last dress the assistant bought me is the one in the picture provided. In the bag I thought to myself: I hate this dress. Why am I trying on this dress? Im going to look so ugly in this dress. But she asked me to trust her, and so I did. I dont know how she knew, it was the only floor-length dress I had tried on that day, but this gown was gorgeous. Prior to, I have never felt so beautiful in my skin. I was guaranteed to be a Princess and I looked fabulous. This is what I love most about Boom Babies, the beautiful surprises. Thank you so much for making my Sixteenth Birthday so memorable and special! Shout out to the owner and staff of Boom Babies, everyone should know about your glamorous store.

Although it was a few years back, I had an experience very similar to tamwojo with Boom Babies. I put my junior prom dress on layaway there, and I came back the day of my senior pictures to finish paying for it and pick it up. I then took the dress to the location of my pictures (still in the bag they gave it to me in). My mother took the dress out of the bag and we noticed that there were several large tears in the dress that were not there before when I had tried the dress on. When we looked at the bag, we saw that the bag had also been torn in several places. I started to get upset but my mom said we would just go back and talk to them after my pictures. I didnt have anything else to wear for the pictures so I still had to wear it for pictures and just have them hide the tears in my photos. After that, we took the dress back and showed the owner the (VERY large) tears in the dress. She proceeded to yell that "Some people are just not as graceful as others" and told everyone in the store that I probably did it trying it on and she was not going to exchange it or help us in any way. After a great deal of effort, they did finally give my mother a little bit of a discount on the dress, but when they gave her the refund (which didnt even cover getting the repairs done on the dress), they had her sign the slip, and then they wrote dress provided as is - no refunds or exchanges AFTER she had already signed it, and they had not told her that they were going to do so. I will NEVER use them for anything ever again.

Today we had our second successful trip to Boom Babies for prom dresses. We arrived about 10 minutes before they opened on a Saturday and were about 4th in line. We immediately were greeted by an associate, Britt. She was fantastic! She took my daughter through the store and helped her to chose about 6 dresses to start with. From there, she worked for almost 2 hours to bring her dresses that fit the style and colors that my daughter was exploring. She was kind, not pushy, and patient. THe owner/manger stopped over a couple of times to check in and give advice and also brought her a dress or two. I was pleased with the service and the fact that they stocked so many dresses and in such a variety of sizes. A variety of other stores had very few dresses that were in stock in sizes over a 6. In the end, we ended up purchasing a gorgeous dress that required few alterations for less than 300$. They also have a variety of beautiful shoes for under 50$ and gave a 10$ discount on the shoes. I do suggest getting there early on the weekends to get a dressing room. THe store was crowded by 11 with a wait for dressing rooms. However, they had 18 associates on the floor to help customers which was great. We will definitely go back in the future with our other girls.
