My wife and I bought a used 2011 Kia Sorento from Thomas Mead at Healey Brothers Chevrolet in Poughkeepsie on June 13, 2013 for $23,237.75. We singed all kinds of paperwork, receipts, DMV registration papers, loan documents, etc; they gave us a temporary registration and we drove it of the lot that day. On June 18, 5 days later, Kevin from their finance department called me at work to tell me that they couldnt account for all of our deposit and demanded a credit card over the phone. I told him no, but that I would stop by to help them resolve the matter; I was sitting in his office in less than an hour. It was me, Kevin, Andy (the general manager) and Thomas. We talked for all of about 5 minutes, with each of them, except for Thomas, accusing me of trying to get one over on them, saying that I was steeling and that I could recant my position at anytime without persecution or penalty. They were rude, obnoxious and arrogant. They told me that they could get the money from me if they had to, that they could call the police and that I should do the right thing. told them that I remembered giving the money to Thomas, but they continued badgering me. It was the most uncomfortable car buying experience of my life. So, I promptly stood up and told them where to go. I said I was calling my layer and my wife and then I left. Later that day Bill Birmington called me, the Healey Brothers Chevrolet manager. At first he was nice, pleasant to talk to and very respectful. He explained that in is 25 years experience that he couldnt recall this ever happening. He said that he was sure that it was us misunderstanding and that we could resolve the matter pleasantly. I told him about my experiences earlier in the day, and asked if we could return the car, because I didnt want to do business with them; he agreed. I also told him that I was waiting for my wife to get out of a meeting so that I could talk to her. My recollection of the events was that we gave the money to Thomas Mead, but I wanted her to confirm this; my wifes pregnant, we had been in the hospital three days earlier for complications with her pregnancy and were running late for a doctors appointment that day. I called Bill back about 25 minutes later and told him that my wife confirmed that we hadnt given them $3500, I told him that she even remembered telling me that, but that I didnt. I told him that I was waiting for her to get home from work and tat we would talk about if she wanted to return the car or not. Bill called me back around 6pm, but this time, he was showing his true colors, just like the rest of them. He was making all kinds of threats, demands, he was obnoxious and rude. I told him that my wife wasnt home from work yet, but that we would talk about returning the car later that evening. Bill then told me that he had recorded our phone conversation, that I had been caught in a lie and that he would be calling the police if he didnt have the money by the next day at noon. He asked me if I understood everything that he just said, and I said I understand you perfectly. Heres my closing thought, there are so many car dealers on route 9 in the Poughkeepsie area. If you can avoid buying a car from Healey Brothers Chevrolet in Poughkeepsie, do it. This was the second car we bought from them, but I assure you, it was also our last. We will never do business with them again. July 19, 2013 UPDATE - Our new Kia has been in the shop twice since we bought it, once because the car wouldnt go into reverse, and the second, just today, because 5 warning lights lit up on the dashboard; which Healey cant fix, because they dont have the proper diagnostic equipment to even determine whats wrong. When I spoke to the Andy, the manager, and asked him for a loaner car just until the issues were resolved which is not going to be until next week, he refused. Some customer service that is....NOT.

The age-old "bait and switch." I called five days in advance to inquire about a lease deal advertised on their website. I was told by two different individuals that the deal was available and they had the vehicles in stock. I asked if there was anything I could do before a visit to expedite the process and that I was very interested in making this deal, but was told they could work with me very quickly if I made an appointment. Made an appointment for noon on a Sunday (hours advertised as open 11-4) with a manager. Arrived, no greeting. Waited 10 minutes, had to interrupt a discussion just to make sure I was in the right place at the right time. Was told almost immediately that the lease deal would be impossible, that it was ONLY for current leasees (wondering why they didnt ask me that one of the many times I spoke with them on the phone prior to the visit?) Told to test drive the vehicle, alone with no discussion of specs/etc. and that if I wanted that monthly payment advertised Id need to put "seven or eight thousand dollars down" for various fees/etc. I said nevermind... suddenly the manager can "see what numbers he can work" and to appraise my trade in. An hour later, no one has offered me a seat, ran a credit report, etc. I am standing there waiting for a verbal deal which is given to me thru Christina, not the manager, with zero explanation. I would think when youre crunching numbers, making a sale you ask the customer to have a seat and go over the details with them. When the deal turns into twice the amount down and an extra 100 dollars a month, with ZERO paperwork to look at, I said I was going to go home since it wasnt at all what I had discussed over the phone/saw advertised. I was met with a terse "Okay, goodbye then." Ive NEVER had such poor customer service in a car dealership in my life! I have impeccable credit and plenty in savings to get a car if the offer is right, but NEVER from this place! What a joke. If youre local, go across the river to Ulster. You can get a better deal on a gorgeous Toyota than anything this Chevy has to offer.

I Love these guys!! 1st let me point out I am a tough customer. I have very high expectations at any place I do business. I was in the market for a new Z06 Corvette. Found that Healey Brothers had the one I was looking for. I 1st called and right away was able to start negotiating pricing. I felt confident that they were willing to work with me so I took the next step of going to their facility. I always make it a point to dress down to see if I am being judged or stereo typed in anyway. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I was received in a positive way even after I told them I was inquiring about one of there most expensive sports cars. After some simple negotiating the deal was done. I felt I had received a very fair price. I was also having a fantastic time talking with many of the other sales reps and staff. Very fun group of people. It was also a very nice atmosphere. I was very relaxed the entire time. The thing that most impressed me is that there was a problem with my new car and I was amazed how quickly they remedied the problem. This dealership is a class act! Paul Venditti was my personal sales rep, great guy - keep up the good work. Tyler By the way my Z06 is awesome!!
