Purchased a $6.00 bone for my bulldog, on the first bite it splintered into shards. This is the first time this has ever happened in the 10 years of giving them to my dog. Luckly I was there to take it away from her. I went back to Blackwinds with it to return it and purchase some other items. The clerk told me to speak to the manager so I waited for about 10 minutes. The manager was very rude and unsympathetic and told me that this happens all the time and would not take the bone back and basically accused me of lying by telling me she could tell the bone had been chewed on for a long time. The only reason I pay $6 for a bone is because they usually last a long time, not just one bite. Not a way to treat a customer!!

I just moved out to the Falls and always will support local "mom and pop" stores in the area. I went here looking for a specific food and I knew they had it because I called over the phone to check and asked the price. The price they gave me on the phone matched the price tag on the bag. However, at the register it rang up $10.00 more!!! They said I was told wrong and the tag was wrong. I was very disappointed and told them I will never be coming back. They should of given me the price and I would of known for next time if they said this was one time only. The manager was super unprofessional and rude. Go support a different local store.

I am a huge fan of fish stores and I went here to check out the selection. Half the tanks werent labeled, a quarter of the labels were mostly scratched off. The tanks were really dirty and the lights created a blinding glare that prevented me from trying to focus in on the fish through all the algae. The prices were high and it seemed as though the staff gave up on that section. With such a great selection of fish stores in WNY, I was appalled that this store would survive when kept in this poor of condition. They did have a small selection of "unique style" tanks that you cant really find anywhere else, but the prices were extremely high.

Everyone is extremely nice and educated on what they are selling. If they dont know the answer to a question theyll find somebody who does. The most important reason we go back us they may not remember my name but they know the names of our dogs & go out of their way to make a big fuss over all my pups and thry always inquire by name a ferret purchased there. They deserve 10 stars!! Awesome staff!!

The staff must have been asleep or high, because nobody could answer a simple question straight, got told one price for an item, to be charged a dollar more at the register. When I tried asking about the posted price, the cashier stared at me like I was speaking Dutch, so not only did I not get what I came for, I left feeling dumber than when I went in.

I bought fish two died and they tested water it was perfect. Got new fish but one died next day. Didnt remember my receipt and horrible women said no receipt no new fish. Day before was no problem with replacing them....never going again their fish all die and horrible customer service in front of my baby

WHO OWNS THE STORE NOW? I have purchased alot from them and like the store very much, however, very sad to see the prices at a rapid increase. Will have to shop around now, but never had to before. Blackwinds used to give even better deals than Walmart and their animals are always healthy and clean.

Knowledgeable staff, you get what you pay for and you get what you give. Come in with a million questions theyll spend the day helping you out, come in with sass and a bad attitude theyll get ya out fast as they can. Family friendly and dont cater to those who arent.

Absolutely love this store. I have been going here since I was a child and they were located by value. I can not stand the big chain pet stores. Kudos blackwinds for staying consistent through the times.

I love this place they are the ones that sell female Chinese dwaf hamsters and I plan on buying from them again and everyone should get the black winds card it will save you money

they are too expensive and one of the girls is really rude. I bought a rabbit from their once and it died that night I will never buy an animal from them.

I like this pet store, but they dont sell dubia roaches for our bearded dragon and they can be pricey!
