For a business that is located in a community and with an owner who appeared to be “community oriented”. My first instinct was to trust that this consignment shop would be about the same as the others that I have done business with. My experiences with the owner of this shop over time proved that my instinct was wrong very wrong, and this cost me at minimum $300 combined between merchandise and monies not paid to me for items that are no longer in her store that she has no record of. On Monday 2/16/15, I went to this shop to see if any of my items had sold. I was shocked that there was no money to pick up, since it was obvious that there were items of mine no longer in the store. Specifically a Vintage Victorian Pitcher and Wash Basin that I was never paid for. While speaking with the shop owner, I noticed a pair of Hollister Jeans that “were” mine, you see they “sold” a few months ago at her price of $4.99. These were brand new with tags Hollister Jeans, of which I received $2.49 for (50% of the “sold” price). It was astonishing to see these jeans once again hanging in this store, still with original tags, more importantly with a new consignor number, (the store’s own number AND a price of $12.99). Trying to comprehend why when the jeans are a consignor’s they are worth $4.99 but when they become the property of the store they are now valued at $12.99, I was told by the owner that she owns them and she can price them how she wants. Evidentially no concern of her consignors making money, the owner claims that these jeans Hollister new with tags, which are white with orange and red hibiscus pattern were “sold” and then returned to the store, well I suppose that would be acceptable UNTIL I find another pair of jeans, American Eagle that I was paid $2.49 for that also were brand new with tags, now marked the same as the Hollister Jeans, $12.99 with the store owner’s number, again these were “sold” and returned, yes these too are mine as they are Electric Blue Jeans, both pairs do stick out of a rack containing straight blue denim. The store works with 3 contracts all of them with loop holes in their favor. Particularly the one that says your items are subject to all sales held in the store, meaning when the store did a 60% off on Friday the 13th, if a consignor brought in merchandise on the 12th it was subject to the 60% off sale within 24 hours. Wonder if that is how my jeans sold for $4.99 and then had a new resale price! Meanwhile all the other items that were mine which were "expired" and my responsibility to pick up the owner refused to allow me to have my merchandise that still reflected my consginor number. Shady Business.

So glad I stopped in! We were traveling through on our way to the coast and the owner was so sweet and welcoming. Despite being closed, she was nice enough to let me come in and look around. Great prices, you wont beat them!
