Im a buyer for a local animal rescue organization, so I have to buy an absurd amount of cat food on a regular basis. Id been going to the petsmart on 117 street in the city, but they always acted like they were doing me a favor, and their tax-exemption policy was incomprehensible and inconsistent (most of the time they refused to honor our tax-exempt status, so I was obligated to pay the tax out-of-pocket. not cool.). while I was driving, I saw a new store on Jackson Ave. the next day I stopped and walked into pet island for the first time was a revelation. everything in the store is clean, neat and well-organized. the guy saw me looking for something, and approached me, offering to help. I proceeded to buy about 7 16-pound bags of food. the tax exemption was a breeze, which truly did save a decent amount of money and took no time at all. The best part was that he insisted on following me out and loading the bags into my car for me. each subsequent visit has been even better. they recognize me, greet me cheerfully, and ALWAYS insist on loading the bags into my car for me. it really doesnt get better than this place and these people. :)

Been here a few times. Raphael was the person that helped me and was a nice guy. He gave me some free treats for my dog and gave me some advice on some good dog food to try for my dog. The store is small but very clean and organized.
