Family-owned and operated, and the best and nicest folks in the business. Ive been a loyal customer for about 15 years now, having bought 3 bikes there in my lifetime. Theyre always willing to help out even when there is no sale to be made, and on two occasions they have talked me out of spending more money on a bike that they did not feel was worth the price--hows that for salesmanship! As far as prices go, they are competitive with the rest of the market. Usually thats the biggest impediment for me in terms of supporting family businesses, but its not even an issue here. Do yourself a favor and head over or give them a call. Personally, I refuse to go anywhere else. Even though I live in Boston now, I be sure to schedule my bike servicing around my trips home to NY.

Best bike shop around. I brought in a VERY old Jamis Dakar Sport that was outfitted as a bizarre hybrid/MTB many years ago by the previous owner. I had a 110 mile ride coming up and wasnt prepared financially to buy a new road bike. I asked Tim to do what he could. For $110, he overhauled the bike to be as "roady" as possible. I worked my ass off on this dinosaur, but Tims work is probably what allowed me to ride every mile successfully. Since that time, I did buy a lightly used Felt F5 Team Garmin road bike that needed some work due to crankshaft stripping. Tim looked at it and said "Try to fix, before replace". As a consumer, exactly what one wants to hear.

I took my bike for a full cleaning and recovery from a fall that left one fork bent. I also changed tires and brake pads. Tim was absolutely polite and professional, a real pleasure to meet. The shop is small, but the service is top quality. My bike returned basically as new and the pricing was fair. If I had gone to my local shop in Ridgefield, they would have charged me 3 times more, a complete rip-off. We are ready to take my partners bike for maintenance and to purchase a new bike as well. I cant say enough nice things about Village Bikes. They truly love bikes and biking, will sit there with you until you have the exact thing you need, and will even tell you "Dont overspend on this part," etc. It is so rare to find super high quality businesses these days, I feel like I want to tell everyone to go there so they stay in business forever!

Decided to check if the store was open on a Saturday off the bike path since my seat had been causing me a lot of pain. When we arrived we saw he was closing up but was so kind and generous to help me right there in the parking lot and adjust my seat for me. Will definitely give my business next time I need something for cycling!

Have not bought a serious bike in ten years. Bought one for my ten year old son and they helped us make the decision correctly. Never had a problem with us looking around and coming back. Such great service and care that I plan on buying my bike this week. Matched up our needs with the proper bike. Excellent place to shop.

The staff see their customers as people, not wallets. They will even go out of their way to teach you about bike repair and save you money. I cannot recommend village bikes enough. They are a small shop, but the attention they give their customers is unmatched.
