I dont usually give reviews on a companys service until Im finished dealing with them for what I need, but I thought this deserved it. I called 6 bookstores in Western NY trying to find a hardcover version of a book to give for my friends birthday. Every store would say its on back order including Talking Leaves, only the nice girl on the phone *there* asked me if Id like her to call the publisher on Monday (since its currently Saturday), and then call me back with information shes found out. That honestly seemed like a nice gesture but I almost never buy hard copy books (eBooks are too awesome) and didnt know if her call would generate any information that Barnes & Noble had not told me already. She then took a few minutes to explain how publishers might sometimes stop publishing a hardcover version of a book if the paperback version sells significantly more copy for a lower price. You know that feeling you get when you call a store to ask a question and they answer with something disappointing, then they say, "Is there anything else I can help you with?" This girl didnt do that, she wasnt trying to just move me along to get to her next customer. She really wanted to help. I even heard her answering another persons question while she was checking the computer for my book, and sounding helpful there too! lol She took my call back information and hopefully Ill hear from this store on Monday. I dont know if this store encourages their employees to be this helpful and polite or if this girl is just naturally friendly, but no matter what people on Amazon are looking for $160 for this $50 book. Talking Leaves has my business if they can order the hardcover, or if I have to settle on the paperback.

HORRIBLE COMMUNICATIONS . Since no feed back ever, verbal or written, I wonder if written contracts with author are honored. Still waiting after last telephone call 2 weeks ago. All copies of my book sold out at both store locations many months ago , yet have never received any money for these sales or even acknowledgement of book status. Advise new authors to steer clear of this place.This is total antithesis of such High quality places like the Burchfield - Penny Art Museum gift shop where my book BIPOLAR BUFFALO- a Mosaic of Minds Journey continues to be offered with integrity & professionalism.

Their staff is incredibly knowledgable about everything in their store. They dont hire people who are just "interested" in reading here. New books come in often however you can find the classics as well! If you cant find the book you need you can special order it.

This bookstore is smaller than the one on Main, but still just as interesting. I try to buy all my gift cards from Talking Leaves--they make great gifts and support this gem of a local business that Buffalo should be very proud of. Buy your next book / gift here!

Great neighborhood bookstore. Staff will always help find a new book or a book for kids summer reading list. Come get lost in the stacks. Ive found great new authors and new books by favorite old authors.

Nice little book shop attached to a great coffee shop. Politics section is 99.99% Hillary, Liz Warren, and resisting the GOP. Not a conservative print in the whole section
