Lots of used books at affordable prices. Book quality is pretty good for a set of used items. Left with a boatload of classics for my end-of-summer reading. Some gems I brought home include "Poppies and Wheat" by L.M.Alcott, "Hesper" by H. Garland, and "The Book of Bugs" by H. Sutherland. Staff were so friendly. One of the clerks spent 30 minutes tracking "Poppies and Wheat" for me. This is a hole-in-the-wall kind of place, but unpretentious and a great source of used books. Ask for Mrs. Bourdillon (I think thats her name?), for help tracking rare books.

Forget the unsearchable maze of used books at Strand or the overflowing piles of dusty unorganized books at most used bookstores. Used bookstores can be a headache, but not this one! This store is clean, friendly, has mellow music playing, and is easy to search through- sure the selection is smaller than most places, but its better- more thoughtful. You feel like they have combed though piles of books to bring you the best ones. I always find a book (or 4) that was just what I was looking for here.

Im a big bookworm, and Unameable Books is one of my favorite used bookstores, ever! For a store on the smaller size, its super clean and organized and Ive found myself spending over an hour here just browsing. The staff is friendly, patient, and very helpful, which is a big plus. During the warm months, they have events and readings in the backyard, and in the basement in the winter.

A wonderful new-and-used bookstore with a top-rate curated selection and quite a large selection as well! Most shelves are clearly labelled NEW or USED X. Im more of a non-fiction person myself, and found their science, exercise, history, and especially philosophy sections to be top-notch. Prices are reasonable. A must-stop for any book lover.

Ive been in here a few times now, and its great to have a bookstore close to my home. I enjoy the selection of this place for browsing purposes - I can manage walking around the whole store and seeing whats there, as opposed to Myopic where if you dont know what you want... good luck. The staff is always friendly.

Definitely a more curated, selective used book shop. Thats a good thing - its not quite as overwhelming as most used book stores. Ive spent an hour skimming the shelves, easily, when I wasnt even looking for one book in particular. It has that cozy, worn in, welcoming vibe that is my favorite with book stores.

A neighborhood gem. Courteous staff, consistently engaging selection of used (and new) books, and new stock all the time. Small space, yes, but it wont feel like it once youre moving around the shelves. Well organized, too. One couldnt ask for more in a local bookstore. I never mind spending money there.

Man I love this place. They almost always have the book I need and theyre so helpful and pleasant when helping me find it. Someone who loves literature clearly runs this place: the selection of books is a fantastic mixture of hidden gems, the cutting edge literature of today, and warm fuzzy classics.

In my short NYC vacation I tryed found some books about Brooklyn history. It was impossible on Manhattan, cause big bookstores had many tourgides about Manhattan. In this store I bought 4 books about Brooklyn, include one fiction book. And I impressed by name of this place.

Great little book store. Good selection of both new and used titles. What is really nice here is that the store itself is very well curated, including the used section, so they pack a lot into a pretty small space. Staff seem friendly, and the used prices are very fair.

Hoped there would be philosophy. Hopes confirmed. Didnt actually have the authors I wanted, but still 5-star selection of new and used philosophy, art, music, queer lit, and so on. Peaceful place, nice staff. Cant wait to return.

One can get lost in here even though its small. Yes, it will get crowded at times but Brooklynites love books. Im guessing its independent but Im not sure. Near the C train Clinton stop. Lots of places nearby to sit and read.

Exactly what I want when going into a bookstore—used paperbacks everywhere, categorized but not perfectly, the price pencilled lightly on the first page, fighting the urge to camp out in the Fiction section.

I liked the atmosphere and although the books are not my type she did have a couple of titles that I was looking for. Might be pricy for some books but a booker has to make money somehow right.

I was here for a reading once, and its very nice. Not much more than a largish closet. I wish there were more bookstores like this, but you need to be in Brooklyn.

What a fun place to shop! In the 20 minutes I was there, I found a half dozen books that were so unique and delightful. I could get lost here for hours any day...

Found a unique old book on architecture that was like jumping back 50 years ago. Attended a friends poetry reading out back. Hip space. Love the white gravel.

A really wonderfully curated collection of used books, supplemented by a wall of new ones. The "just in" shelf is always an adventure in excellent oddities.

Love this bookstore. New books, old ones, in alphabetical order, stacked on the floor and just piled on carts. You will find something for your soul.

They give you better prices for your books than the Strand and have an eclectic collection of books.
