Someone recommended this place to me. Went in and from the start it was awkward. They do not offer table service which is fine but you should post a sign stating so. It was off peak hours around 135pm and I was standing around with about twenty other people trying to figure out if we seat ourselves or order food. I asked an employee named Tony what I should do and was met with a terrible attitude. His boss was yelling at him the whole time. My wife and I ordered something simple a hamburger and an avacado wrap around 145pm. We didnt know if we should pay now or after eating. We sat at a table for a half hour and we saw people that were waiting in line with us also waiting at tables for food. If the wait wasnt long enough, we witnessed Tony take money from a customer then dip his unwashed hands into a container of uncooked french fries. He used his dirty hands to place them in the deep fryer. That was the end of my rope. I paid for the crappy cup of coffee that I served myself and walked the hell out. Do not go here. Food didnt look anything special and the service completely sucked. I would put zero stars if I can, I hope the owner looks at these reviews to correct his mistakes. Perhaps are looking for a few days off of work from food poisoning or cross contamination then this may be your ticket.

Went here this past Sunday. Stood at the counter waiting to place an order for approximately 5 min before the tall guy in the glasses with clear/translucent frames came up and told my GFand I that he would be with us in a minute. Stood there for another 10 minutes waiting for service. Watched the guy in the clear/translucent glasses ring 3 other people out, make a sandwich, and delegate to other employees during that 10 minute period. Bit my tongue and walked out. Never coming here again. If I could give a half star I would.

First time we were there.... we were driving through and needed a bite to eat and some coffee a local told us about this place and we decided to give it a try that and it was really our only option... was well worth the risk!! Food was delicious and hit the spot and the older couple running it were super sweet!!

Food is pretty great, prices are really great and its a cool old building with lots of little rooms that you can tuck back into to eat. They used to have a better "general store" section where you could purchase other items but that has gone away with new ownership.

It is so wonderful to find an eatery that actually puts more than 3 slices of meat on a sub. Set in the quaint town of Oldwick the General Store is a must do on your way to Melicks Town Farm up the street. We have enjoyed great meals and service over the years.

I thought very overpriced for a generic Boars Head sandwich that was fair at best. Coke in a bottle was $3, more than Ive ever paid, even at shore vacation spots.

I grew up here and the food quality has declined but the prices have gone up. I hope that this place gets back up to the high standards of Oldwick.

A place from the past. A real general store.. Even though the rich live in the area. Try the place if you are in the area. Very nice.

A MUST GO TO IF YOURE IN THE AREA. ITS THE ULTIMATE GENERAL STORE!! Although its a bit pricey - hey its tewksbury - its worth it.
