The store is convenient to where I work. And I am certain that the neighborhood residents and Rutgers students truly appreciate a full size, well-stocked grocery store right in the city. This store sells everything from organic foods to beer and wine. I find the store to be clean and well organized. Some prices are a bit high, but most items are at moderate supermarket prices. When they run a sale, the price is very competitive. The staff is very nice and I get the feeling that they care about their customers and community. The deli area has very good prepared foods. Example: the woman behind the counter who waits on you actually hand-makes the tuna salad. And it is as good as I could make it. The fresh bread and rolls are high quality. The fruit is usually a good buy and good quality. As a matter of fact, some of the fruit items are available here and not at other major stores at times. Some things that I do think need improvement would include stocking the seating area with napkins and cutlery. Also there appeared to be a coffee shop inside the store operating at some time in the past. Well, it is not there now. Big downer!

Im officially done with this place. The prices are awful; virtually everything is suggested retail price. The few sale items they do offer frequently ring up wrong and its like pulling teeth to get the clerks to correct the error. The produce and bread spoils too quickly. Bread, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, celery, etc. shouldnt rot and become inedible within a week of purchase. New Brunswick needs a Shoprite level grocery and keeps getting stuck with overpriced, not fresh options. The service and delivery charges from the Somerset Shoprite are a bargain considering the food is fresh and Shoprite honors their sales prices.

This place is indeed tarnishing its appearance if you compare it to when it first opened under a different supermarket company a few years back. I went there today and although Im glad to see that they now have a wide variety of Hispanic and Asian food, the place is starting to fall apart. The place smells bad, the customer service is mediocre, and certain food products are a bit pricier. Produce on the other hand is sold at a decent price. Im just really upset at the lack of maintenance that this place needs. Not everything can be perfect, but for a building thats only a few years, old, this place sure needs a bit TLC.

I gave this place a shot, but no longer going to shop there if I can help it. The products available are inconsistent, the checkout process is very slow and it seems half the registers are never open, and their produce is inconsistent in quality. Today the cashier had swiped 2 of my items, then another staff member came over and wanted to purchase an item, so she voided my 2 items (which took forever because she had to find the card to void), rang up the staff members item ahead of me, and then once he had paid proceeded to ring my items up again. Terrible service.

Its the largest grocery store in the area, has great parking on 3rd floor of garage, and has a decent selection of various ethnic foods & ingredients, but the produce quality is usually poor, theres little to no customer service, and their meat selection & quality can be hit or miss. They have tons of Central America foods, produce, and meats and a large selection of deli/prepared foods & bakery. Public restrooms are difficult to find if they actually have them.

These people tag the products with certain prices and charge you more when you pay... its a total disaster, and they just say: "you can take a picture of the product and show it to the cashier....and well see"... Omg!, how can I take picture of 43 or 50 products I buy when I do grocery shopping???... its completely insane, I mean, its not my fault they cant do it, are not cents, are dollars at the end of the day.

DO NOT SHOP HERE! Straight up crooks. The prices ring up different than what their Manager Special signs say. I nickle and dime every purchase and every time they ring up what I purchase its ALWAYS at least $8 more than it should be. $8 may not sound like a lot but spread that over a lifetime at $8 a week thats over $400 a year, and across all of their customers? Theyre straight up stealing money!!!

Get nearly all of the stuffs I need for a grocery shopping trip. Fresh vegetables. Limited Asian products, however. But Im glad that they have an Asian isle. If youre a Rutgers student, you can get a discount (5% off I suppose), but you must spend at least $20ish upon checking out ( need someone fact-checking this amount) to get this discount. Ask them to give you one, and bring your RUID card!

They force you to relinquish your bags at the front. I realize theft is a problem but I dont want to leave my $1000 laptop or confidential/valuable documents in a bin at the front of the store with some random employee. Its a huge inconvenience just to pick up $20 worth of groceries and I worry about my stuff the whole time. Just check peoples bags on the way out!

They just switched over from Key Food to SuperFresh and are VERY DISORGANIZED! I bought a birthday cake there and tried to get someone to write "Happy birthday" on it, but theyre wasnt anyone there to write on it. I went to customer service and was told that they dont write on cakes and I would have to buy the gel and write on it myself.

New Brunswick needs this place to succeed and there are plenty of reasons why it should: it has very good produce, excellent fish, a good selection of ethnic foods, beer, wine and very competitive prices. Plus its really easy to park (30 minutes free on the street; 3 hrs free in the parking deck above) and get in and out quickly.

The reasons why Keyfood is the best Downtown New Brunswick grocery store are: - The produce is cheap; - They have a liquor store with a decent beer selection; - Free delivery and free parking; - Its walking distance from the train station and the Paterson Rutgers bus stop; - The employees are always courteous.

They have the best hours in the area. They were open until 10 pm on Christmas. It had all of my West Indian grocery staples and the best prices in the area. But the fruit and vegetables are usual rope and dont last long once I take them home. So I only buy what I can use in a couple of days.

The lunch special has some seriously good food, and its in a perfect location. Lots of Latin American and Asian food, which is great for me. Wish they didnt take over the 3rd flood of the parking garage as the other floors are a mess because of it, but as a supermarket its a reliable choice.

Convenient and the best supermarket within walking distance for frozen items and non-perishables, but the produce is not good quality. Better off ubering/taking a lyft to another store rather than dumping money into fruits and veggies that will rot within the next few days.

Good location, poorly managed, poorly stocked and okay prices. Staff needs better training, not professional and rarely opens on time. 7am means the store should be able to make transactions by that time, not make the customer wait 15 minutes.

This is a typical cheap and therefore lower quality grocery store. You can find your essentials and some outrageously low priced items, but purchase expecting it to perish. If you know what youre getting into Super Fresh can be sufficient.
