This response to Karen B. Is on behalf of Gail Comerford-- Owner at True Love Bridal. Thank you. It was quite unfortunate the manufacturer designer, delivered an ivory gown. The store immediately reordered the correct gown. On a second delivery, the manufacturer/designer delivered a train-less gown. I was in shock, and felt just horrible. I immediately contacted the office manager of the designer at home in the evening, and efficiently went in person to the designers headquarters early the next morning to brainstorm a solution. It was my intervention (not the designers) that facilitated receiving the wedding gown on time. I then communicated and did anything possible to fix this situation. Every time I spoke with you, the bride, you were understanding and quite polite. The designer guaranteed the completed dress would be here in enough time (which it was). During this process the designer asked to deal directly with the customer (which is totally unacceptable) however, I was willing to do anything to facilitate the process, and make it more convenient for you, the bride. When the dress arrived in more than enough time, the mother of the bride took the dress without paying for it, directly from the designer’s warehouse. At True Love Bridal we had the pleasure of meeting the brother and sister-in-law of the bride two days after this occurred to apologize. They politely paid the balance in cash, and were in no hurry to leave the store. We chatted about their wedding, the new baby on the way, and several other topics. No bridal shop owner who works seven days a week, ten hours a day, with complete dedication; ever wants to see a bride upset or unhappy. If I didnt care about this situation I would have openly blamed the designer and have had her refund the deposit to the customer and would have done nothing to correct the situation, but instead, I spent extensive time, dedication, concern and money to guarantee the bride her gown. True Love Bridal will never give up on a bride. As an additional side note, for someone who is so uncaring, why would I donate 1000 wedding gowns to victims of Hurricane Sandy? I truly care, and am very concerned that every bride has the gown of her dreams. To date, we have given away approximately 500 gowns (at my own expense) and are still going strong. It was never about the money until the dress was taken from the designers headquarters. I hope you, the newlyweds, are doing well, and had a wonderful wedding. True Love Bridal

I would never recommend this store to anyone. The owner is so nasty and doesnt care about her customers. I ordered my wedding dress more than 9 months before my wedding to avoid any problems. I began to call 4 months before my wedding asking when it would be in. The owner kept telling me a couple more weeks. I stopped in the store in the meantime and saw a dress similar to mine that was ordered and the owner said it was someone else’s dress. When I finally got a call that my dress was in (about two months before my wedding) I went to the store and the owner seemed surprised that I wanted to try on my dress. When I was trying on the dress, my mom said this dress has been such a headache. The owner said “That’s nothing. That dress you saw a couple of weeks ago, was your dress, but they sent it in Ivory instead of white.” When I tried on my dress there was no train on the dress. So when I asked how she was going to fix this problem within 6 weeks before my wedding, she came up with all different problems and then said "Well do you want the train because you could always were the dress with no train?" I said yes I want the train. So she than decided to order a new bottom to the dress and promised it would be in with in two and half weeks (which would be three and half weeks before my wedding). After two and half weeks I never received a call so when I called I was told it would be another week since it was coming from China. She said well we will ship it by air instead of by boat, so it gets here faster...Really??... The train finally came in two and half weeks before my wedding and when I went to pick it up, she asked for us to pay the balance on the dress (which was more than what we owed). She than got our credit card number and ran our credit card multiple times trying to get what she thinks we owed. When we were there we wrote out a check so we could take the train home cause she said if we didn’t pay what she said we owed she wasn’t giving us the train. We paid what we thought we owed and left. The next day she had one of her employees call me and tell me that I stole the dress and that if I didn’t pay the rest of the amount she would be contacting the police. So we went with our recipes and showed her what we paid and how we didn’t owe what she thought. The owner does not care if it’s your wedding. It’s supposed to be a happy time of your life and all she caused me was aggravation.

Avoid this place at all cost! True Love Bridal is located in a building that is very much too small for the amount of merchandise crammed into the space. I was overwhelmed by clutter when I entered, so much so that I returned my coat and purse to the car because I couldnt fit through the isles. I allowed the other ladies in the bridal party to peruse the racks because I was feeling claustrophobic. When we finally had dresses to try on we went to the fitting room, which was also disorganized and had other dresses lying around from previous occupants. One of the dresses we tried had a zipper that was completely destroyed. In the end we found a dress we liked and decided to order them through True Love Bridal, so as to have the dresses coming from a single location instead of the internet. A woman standing behind the counter leaned over a shoe box balancing on a trashcan to measure us; needless to say I felt this was unprofessional. I paid my deposit in cash and received a hand-written receipt and change from the womans purse--not a register; I dont think they have any type of computer system to track your order whatsoever. We were promised that the dresses would come in by February for the wedding in May, but they werent delivered in February, or March. In fact, the dresses were not delivered until the third week of April. In the meantime, when we were trying to track the dresses, the staff was unhelpful and often rude. The staff tried to pass us off with "well call back with more information," which they never did, or else they would make an excuse that it was the manufacturers or delivery services fault. When we finally picked up the dresses, they were all their in the correct sizes, but we did not receive so much as an apology for the inconvenience, let alone a discount or other compensation. Not to mention that the dresses were all at least 2-3 sizes too big, probably from the way in which they were measured, but its also likely that they measure too big in order to charge more for tailoring. Good luck, but Ill never be dealing with these people ever again.
