Two weeks ago, I was shopping for a deal on a Honda Civic at the Open Road Honda, Edison, NJ. Over the course of communication, the lease amount was confirmed at *** dollars/month and availability of the car was confirmed, text confirmation of both are still sitting warm in my inbox. Me and my brother who is a busy Doctor forsook our weekend plans and set off to Edison, a 70 miles drive from Long Island (It took 5 hrs to reach there after switching 3 buses 3 trains and 2 uber). On our way, I even called up the sales person (Mr. Josh) to confirm the appointment and he gladly welcomed me to sign and drive the car @ 6:30 PM. Upon arrival, I quoted my bin number to the salesman who seemed perplexed by the price. He flatly cited an unavailability of the car as a result of which the deal couldn’t go through. I raised the issue with his supervisor (Mr.Mustafa), who stuck onto the same story. I asked him when the next lot would come and even the General Manager of sales was unaware when the next vehicle is coming. Ridiculous as it sounds he even told they could not match the same price for the next lot as the "Honda program" changes every now and then. After some persistence from my end, the supervisor agreed to honor the deal when the next lot of vehicles come in. Despite the conspicuously conceited behavior at the dealership, I gave them my number to notify me when the new lot arrived. The next day, to my suspicion, I called them from another number and got to know that the car had never gone out of stock. I have emails from the dealer with all details of the available vehicles with the VIN numbers. I gave a grace period of a week and made another call to the dealership. Much to my humiliation ,they refused to pick up my calls initially and when they finally did (again I had to switch numbers), they informed the deal cannot be honored as the promotional campaign has runs its course, as a consequence of which my order cannot be processed. I have been a life long user of Honda vehicles, and I feel it is only right to report this fraudster behavior that has occurred at your dealership, where your involvement, whether implicit or explicit, is undeniable. My brother and I were never treated as a customer and we felt very inferior when they did not even return my calls (I am only asking for basic courtesy to make a customer satisfied). All because of this my plans of getting a vehicle has been delayed and has forced me to look for a brand other than Honda. The experience has left me doubtful about the purchase of any other Honda vehicle in the future, but my what I went through can double up to other susceptible customers.

I recently purchased a 2015 Honda Odyssey at Open Road Honda. The most impressive aspect of the overall experience was the interaction with, and professionalism of, the salesperson Mr. Yong Shin. Upon entering the showroom on my initial visit, I was greeted promptly and warmly by Mr. Shin. He listened to my needs and carefully addressed each question that he was asked. The demonstration of the vehicle features was very informative and complete. Mr. Yong Shin is very knowledgeable about the technical aspects of the Honda vehicles. He helped me to find the right vehicle and then proceeded to offer a very attractive purchase price. The entire conversation was friendly, helpful, respectful and effective in coming to a swift purchase agreement. Not having the desired vehicle (particularly the color) on hand that day, Mr. Shin kept me informed as to the progress of the vehicle acquisition. Within three days I was able to take possession of my new Odyssey because of the professional manner in which Mr. Shin handled the situation. In fact, he had gone out of his way to personally ensure the expedient delivery of the vehicle to the Open Road Honda dealership. Upon my second visit to pick up the vehicle, Mr. Shin was extremely attentive and walked me through the final steps keeping track of many small, but very important, details regarding my taking delivery of the new Odyssey. The experience with the Finance Manager was also very efficient as well. The final paperwork process was conducted thoroughly and in an informative manner. I would readily recommend to family and friends that the place to go for a new vehicle is Open Road Honda. I will surely encourage them to have Mr. Yong Shin help them through the process. He is a friendly and professional salesperson with an outstanding level of commitment to the customer!

I made a great decision in picking Open Road Honda as the dealership in getting my first car. The dealership was nice, welcoming, and they picked great cars to display inside. I was a bit nervous at first but once I met our sales rep Angel Torres, he made the experience less nerve wrecking and painless. Angel was very professional but easy gong throughout my whole process. From the moment he introduced himself to when he handled me the keys to my amazing car. He listened and was very attentive to all my needs and didnt make me feel pressured into picking a car. He made the process to getting my car easy and made sure to find a solution to any problems or concerned we ran into. He was patient and never rushed me whenever I wanted to talk something over with my cousin who came with me. He gave us the privacy to do that and didnt hover over us. The communication was clear and the final price he told us was exactly that. There were no surprises or last minute changes to my deal or pricing. Because of him, I got to drive away in not only my first car, but the one I wanted with a great deal that I could afford. I highly recommend going to see Angel if you ever want to get yourself a car. He will find a way to make it happen. He even went out of his way to offer us some drinks and snacks when he over heard us saying we were starting to get hungry as I started signing my paperwork. I am 100% satisfied with the deal and car I got and it was to say it was all thanks to Angel. He surely is a sales rep angel. Its only been two days and Honda has already called asking me hows everything going with my car. Cant get a better dealership than that!! Go to Open Road Honda and ask for Angel, I promise you wont regret picking this dealership or sales rep .Thanks Open Road for my car, I love it!

My wife and I stopped into Open Road Honda a few weeks back to take a look at the Honda Pilot. After browsing for a few moments we were approached by Yong Shin who, even though he was in the process of closing another deal, was kind enough to take us out on a test drive. We liked the vehicle, but were still in the midst of doing our due diligence and needed to look at some other cars, so we thanked Yong, and took his card in the event we ended up back at Open Road. Fast forward to October 31, 2016 and we had decided to pull the trigger on the Pilot, so we went back to the showroom and asked to speak with Yong, but as fate would have it, he was out of the office sick that day. Enter Jeff Gutkind who stepped in and didn’t miss a beat. Now if you’re anything like me, you probably consider the idea of purchasing a new car only one step below the Bubonic Plague, but I’m happy to report that Jeff did his level best to make the entire experience a pleasant one. He was courteous, pleasant, and a true gentleman to my pregnant wife. Did we go back and forth over price a couple of times? Sure, but it was far from an acrimonious negotiation and Jeff kept the mood light throughout with his pleasant sense of humor. The best part? Jeff informed us that since we had first been handled by Yong that he would be sharing the commission with him. At the end of the day, it’s a business transaction, but I really appreciated the sentiment and it made me feel good to know that I was buying a car from a gentleman who took the time to think of others. Long story short, I would most assuredly buy another vehicle from Jeff given the opportunity, but I hope he’s long retired enjoying the fish down in Florida by the time we are back in the market! Thanks for everything, Jeff!
