I gave it 4 stars because it is just not the best (well, in local small private business) I have and will ever see. If no body tells you that you have to go around by Winans St to go in the back of it. You would never know that it actually does provide parking space for you, customer. 4 star again because if you happen to be not South American or from the Caribbeans, it is most likely that you wont find "each" thing on your list. But thats why I like it me. Because, more and more it surprises me with more stuff, more of our products and spices. It can get very busy there because the have great prices. I go there before I go to shopRite or any others. They also have a separate whole section, like it was an other store (you have to go out) for fresh seafood. It is clean and I have nothing to complain about the cashiers nor the owners!

In the past, I have enjoyed my shopping experience at Tropical Sun. I have been shopping there for nearly four-five years without incident and had used a debit or credit card. This week I purchased a meager amout of groceries and the cashier who was unknown to me requested ID. I have never been asked to show my ID with any purchase in the store. If this was a new policy/procedure than she should have explained that. I understand that with all the fraud and stolen identities this would be acceptable. I did not see a sign indicating that this was now a requirement. I became somewhat indignant and paid with showing my ID but asked that she not touch the ID. I am undecided as to whether or not I will be continuing my patronage of the store.

Let me first say the atmosphere in this place is very subtle it is nice and the display of products is easy to find. Cashiers and employees are very nice and communicative however , the prices are marked up!! You can find the same products at stores in the same vicinity for wayyy less! Theres Walgreens, Rite-Aid, Lot Stop, and just a few blocks up is Shop-Rite... you will save at least 20$ by going to the nearby stores.. only save Tropical for a dire need lol!!

Went to get a (1) green pepper and couldnt was sold only in bags, but I was smelling this foul smell and it was truly coming from the produce section, so if I could have brought it individually I would not purchase because of the horrific smell

My friend suggested I try this supermarket instead of making the trip all the way back to Brooklyn; no regrets, found what I needed and got a great welcome for my first purchase from the cashier, thanks a lot

The store has everything you need and the cashiers are very nice. The owner needs to put heat in the store because in the store has the same tempature as out side and thats not good.
