Sun Ray is run down and pretty ghetto. The strip mall is anchored by a TJ-max, a thrift store, and a Cub foods. Sun Ray has a great location between Ruth, and McKnight rd, along I-94, and a long history on the East side of Saint Paul, but it has not kept up. The greater "Sun Ray area" which extends all the way to White Bear Ave from McKnight Rd has faired much better than Sun Ray, with better, more modern stores like Target Aldi, and restaurants. Sun Ray is not very good for a whole day of shopping, but is great for going to a single store like Cub or the Thrift store, thats what is keeping it alive. DO NOT take the bus there, the Sun Ray transit center is super sketchy. Its unfortunate since its right next to a nice Culvers and a library.

When SunRay was surrounded by 3M employees and people who commuted to downtown St. Paul to work it was a nicer place with a grocery store (Red Owl, Kowalskis, etc), JCPennys, Bridgemans, IHOP / Pannekoeken, a post office, a candy store, a fabric store and so on. Slowly over the years the classier tenants, stores and neighbors, have moved on to greener pastures (Woodbury). Simply because it has a Cub Foods, Sunray isnt a terrible place, but the area as a whole is in the midst of a slow but steady decline.

This plaza is ok. Cub is there and have a great place to eat. The food is always fresh and the chicken both grilled and fried are sooo good. The nail place sucks. They wont fire a lady who cant see good to spare her feelings. So just giver her your money because ....lol... and one guy up there thinks he ia funny but he ia just a jerk.. anyway, the pet store has been there forever and the aquatic dept is so helpful and knowledgeable. Great little store. Tj max is limited but great quality.

Went there about 8pm and wanted to fit on some clothing. But they told me the fitting rooms are not available after 8pm.!!! and they would not let me go in there!! How Ghetto is that!!! If u want o run a clothing store u need to have your fitting rooms available!!!! If u want to sell clothing?? They at times do not care about there customers!!! They are just to lazy to clean a fitting room before they go home!!! I think u r in business to sell clothing ?????

Went to a few stores in this shopping area. None of them I would consider "clean" and the general crowd of people shopping were not friendly. This area does not attract a high end crowd. Although a few of the bigger stores are in a convenient location for 3mers, and the employees are nice - the parking lot is a mess and not well maintained- and its not an area where you would want to be alone after dark.

Need to get better shopping stores, used to love shopping here but not much places to go. My favorite place is the smoke shop, they are friendly and helpful. Its sad to hear people are stealing all the time. Bad neighborhood. I used to grow up down the street and would walk up to this local shopping mall, I would never allow my kids to walk or be allowed here any more without a parent.

The shopping center ok. I mainly visit because it has a TJ Maxx, which is the only one in the East metro area. Its an older shopping center with a parking lot that needs to be overhauled. Be careful when driving near where the Valu Thrift is located. There are usually children darting out, or people driving around, or pulling out of spaces without any regard to other drivers.

Ghetto ass people. People breaking into cars. Little hood rats trying to rob anything that moves. The bus depot can be dangerous as all hell at times, especially when there are packs of people there. Dont give a rats rear end if you smoke weed but rude as hell when youre smoking it front of children blowing it at them.

My first job was at SunRay. I try not to be a grocery store snob but it can be difficult to find good produce at this Cub sometimes. I get my hair cut here usually with adequate results. I wish the uniform store carried pilot shirts instead of just a vast array of scrubs. Also home to the District 1 storefront.

Not much to say. Only a few stores are worth the visit to this strip mall. It really is only a convenience to those nearby and cannot compare to Woodbury Village, Tamarack Circle, or Maplewood Mall, all of which have larger varieties of stores and higher quality stores.

This shopping center has just about everything you need. The Cub foods is open 24hrs for you late night shoppers. Most of the stores look a little old or outdated on the inside and there are definitely some sketchy people walking around here and there

Great place to pick up everything you need and want. And its great just for walking although there are a few empty building it wont be long. Something new this year Im sure. And the thrift store always has good fines. Great treasure hunting there.

This shopping center is kind of old and run-down, in my opinion. The Cub is not well kept-up and other stores in the area arent either, from what Ive seen. There are better places to shop close by that are more worth your time.

This shopping center offers a lot of different spots to go. It is a bit ghetto in general and the set up of the parking lot is ridiculous and makes EVERYONE forget how to drive apparently. But its a nice one stop shop mall

Ive been there on/off over the years and Ive had great finds at the thrift store there, had good luck finding eCig juice at the tobacco store therev(favorite being strawberry-kiwi flavor!) A good little strip mall overall

Kinda ghetto in the area, but it has a variety of stores and living in the area, I ended up going to it often. Its more of a strip mall of stores for the residents in the area instead of an actual shopping destination.

Went there for the first time in a long while & was disappointed on how rundown the place has become. Trash flying around everywhere & piles upon piles of bird droppings on the ground. Decent selection of stores though.

Checked out Petland. Havent been there in YEAAARS. Huge improvement. Then the Tobacco shop and Woah what an awesome place. So much inventory too. Gonna be going back checking out more of the retailers in the stripmall.

Pretty decent choices for shopping. My favorite is the thrift store. Everytime I go in there I find something I truly like. What I dont like is that the transit center is about a 5 min walk away from the stores.

TJ Max local! Also really good Thrift Store on site along with many other useful shops. But just say NO to purchasing pets at the pet shop on site! NO to puppy mills and YES to adoption from shelters!
