Want a great spot to find a new (yes they have brand new items as well as gently used items) movie or TV show to watch and help you unwind after a long and stressful day or week? Or read the recent issues of that magazine youve been meaning to subscribe to but just havent gotten around to? Or, the big and obvious reason to go; to pick out a great book to enjoy! Personally I can ALWAYS find a great gift for my youngest sibling in the childrens books area, and Im always impressed by the wide selection of cook books they have there to peruse. The staff are happy to help you find a specific item youve been itching to find, and theres also a famously-huge tent sale that happens at this site every summer during the annual Highland Festival. Really though, youll want to come check that out for sure too! Thanks for supporting local book stores!

I love this store. Its got great selection at a great price and what they dont have they are generally able to order from other stores. They helped us find a vinyl recording of Neutral Milk Hotels Aeroplane Over the Sea (ordered from a different, out-of-state store) after months of searching. It arrived very quickly and in great condition. I havent sold any books there, but have heard that their prices are pretty reasonable. Would recommend every day of the week!!

Organized. We tried exchanging books there and they really dont care to give you anything for them. One guy argued with us about having James Patterson books on clearance which he said never happens [although theres always plenty on the $1 racks]. The staff isnt very friendly at all but they have a pretty wide selection. Found some great nostalgia books [these I just used for decoration :/ for a lot cheaper than I imagined].

Not a whole lot to choose from in some selections, particularly religion. Terrible trade in cash back rate, brought in a lot of brand new books (that are still being sold at Barnes and Noble) and got maybe $10.00 back for the stacks of literature, plus they recycled a lot of them.

Great deals and helpful friendly staff. Even during the crazy sale they were nice enough to take the time to check other locations for the book I was really wanting. Wish there were a couple more seats for quiet reading but you absolutely get what you pay for.

if you are trying to sell college textbooks DO NOT TAKE THE TIME TO GO TO THIS STORE! they offered me 25 dollars for 1 book that was originally 275 dollars. i know its a business but they cant ever expect anyone to be stupid enough to sell it.

I love Half-Price Books. I could wander for hours. Mostly I browse the bargain books in the basement, but its also great for excellent condition books, CDs, and DVDs as gifts. Ive found some of my very favorite blank Thank You notes here also.

Love this store for everything it has, books of all kinds, tv shows and movies, music (old and new), video games and a ton more. The only problem I had was the people workibg werent very involved in greeting or asking if I needed any help.

Always find something new to read here...wish i got more money for books i sell though. Older books can be priced almost as high as their cover price in the 80s and 90s and we know whoever brought them in got peanuts in comparison.

Probably the biggest one around. Two levels, lots of books, movies, games, and you can find some good deals. Selling your stuff is another story and you wont get much. Donate to your local library instead for a tax deduction.

Best HPB location in the Twin Cities. The store is roomy and loaded with thousands of volumes. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The discount room in the basement is loaded with cheap reads of all genre for all ages.

This is the best of their Twin Cities locations. Although some bare strip lights detract from the atmosphere, its in a unique 1960s era building unlike the typical middle of a strip mall, large selection..

A lot of good stuff here. This location really has the best selection out of all the H.P.B stores in the Twin Cities. H.P.B is getting pretty price though. So, I try to only buy clearance.

Fantastic used bookstore. Clean, organized, good selection. They must be very selective about what they buy because the dozen or so titles I browsed looked almost new. Highly recommended.

Love the massive selection of books! The prices are pretty good too! Just dont sell them anything. They barely give you anything and pulp most of it, even if you bring in like new books.

Great service and selection. Discount books are tucked away downstairs (recently picked up A Tree Grows in Brooklyn for $3, still in great shape). Id recommend this place for any reader.

Two floors of awesome! They reorganized their clearance section (almost the entire basement) which helped a lot. Well organized and the staff is friendly. Tons of deals to be found!

They buy books and have a used vinyl section. I like bookstores that I can sit and read till I want to buy the book. No sitting around here. A lot of non-book items to browse.

This Half Price Books is amazing. Theres like 2 floors, the collection is extensive (not expensive) and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I wish this was my local store.

Selection changes as it always does at a used book store, but this location always has a wide and excellent variety! Tons of books, great prices, and a large, friendly space.

Pretty nice bookstore. They didnt have a lot of what I was looking for when I last went in; but the stock changes enough to make looking around worth it every so often.

I guess Im not enough of a hipster to be treated like a human being at this particular location. Unfriendly and rude employees. Theyll no longer be getting my business.

Extensive selection of affordable used books. And they buy your used books and give vouchers for future purchases. Love the option to recycle books for others to enjoy.

Jerks. Guy offered me next to nothing for 60 books I brought in and refused to tell me how much they each were. Only gave me a price for all. Never going here again.

normally I dont dig chains, but I always seem to find something at half Price Books. I still prefer small, independent bookstores, but I pop into HPB periodically

Nice, surprisingly large variety of books, etc. The videogame section is pretty wacky, with quite a few rarer items popping up. Now with comics and vinyl!

Great staff. I dropped off 10 boxes of books on a busy Saturday afternoon and they handled it well, politely and quickly. Great browsing while you wait.

So. Many books. Also records, and comics. Usually things are pretty well priced, especially if you look at paperbacks that are a little older.
