I absolutely love coming to this shop. Its a nice environment, and Jacob is very personable. He does fantastic work. Hes got a light but firm hand, and its probably the most comfortable I have ever felt getting tattooed. Its a nice, quiet little shop. I really appreciate the fact that its appointment only so no one is just randomly walking in, it makes me feel safer because then I dont have to deal with someone walking in and seeing me sprawled out on the table getting work done when they are a complete stranger, so I feel incredibly comfortable in the shop. Jacob (the owner and artist) has always done quality and incredible work on me, and hes the only artist I have ever personally worked with that I swear by and will always recommend. He provides a great environment and great quality work for a good price. Being unique is his strong point and he has great style and great taste for shading and coloring. I dont think I have ever been more in love with tattoos on my body than I have been since he started working on me. And hes honest, if he cant do the style someone is looking for or thinks someone could do it better he will be up front and tell you that, he will always try if you want him to but at least he doesnt convince you that he can do something when he cant do it as well as someone else could. Really, hes everything youd want in an artist. Upfront, reasonably priced, good shop, great work, honest. I will always recommend him to anyone looking for a good piece.

First off, I dont understand how there is a single negative review on here. Seems a little odd to me. Jacob is an amazing artist, and one of the most kind, cool, laid back guys you will meet. Definetly does not fit any of the negative comments, so please do not consider these, rather look at the consistency with the positive comments. I first met Jacob a little over a year ago, I had a 10 yr old basic/"cookie cutter" tattoo from a well known shop, and wanted a half sleeve/cover up. Jacob asked for my ideas and took a few days and came up with a unique & beautiful design, exactly what I wanted. Something thats just for me! He was flexible in accommodating my schedule, hes very reasonably priced, the shop is clean, his skills and the colors he uses are amazing-and most importantly hes gentle! The heal time is amazing. I get compliments on my tattoo nearly every day. Loved it so much I went back for two more, and will continue. Wouldnt go anywhere else. Thanks, Jacob!

ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE jacob and his work 3 out of the 4 tattoos I have are done by him . He took something that means the world to me and gave it an awe-inspiring personality. From here on out mine and my boyfriends tattoos will be done by him and nobody else. The talent and the personality of this man is beyond anything I have ever seen. If anyone has anything bad to say about him or his views of how he accepts customers obviously does NOT know a good artist when they see one. Because 90% of tattoo artists only do appointments . Or have select few ways of doing tattoos. That is what creates an amazing artist. Like I said nobody else will EVER tattoo me ! And jake you are an amazing buisness man, and an even more amazing tattoo artist!

I was referred to this shop by two very trusted firends that have been going to him for multiple pieces of beautiful work. Perfect prices. I instantly felt welcomed and understood. I felt completely comfortable and he gave me perfect ideas to critique and bring to life the sleeve that Ive always wanted. Lines and shading perfect. Made sure that I was okay and asked of things I needed throughout the sessions. Made sure I was comfortable and showed his enthusiasm in peice. The negative people on here have clearly never been to his shop for they describe nothing of the wonders this man has created/can do. Thank you Jacob and I cant wait to finish this piece and create more pieces with you.

I know a lot of tattoo artists and have been to many shops around the twin cities. Phantom Cat Tattoo is by far the best in my experience. I have a sleeve that Jacob started and will be finishing. The colors are amazing and he has a one of a kind talent. The shop is very clean and private, which I appreciate. I would strongly recommend setting up an appointment for a consultation with Jacob if you want some kick ass art on your body. He is very up front and honest and if he doesnt feel the work you want is something that he would be able to do his very best at, he will refer you to another trusted colleague. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the cover-up Laura did for me, my old tattoo went from Disney to badass!!! I was so nervous, I actually started crying, because so many people told me that covering up a tattoo will only create a bigger mistake, with no way to fix a bad cover-up disaster. I walked out blown away by the amazing creation Laura did on my arm. I dont have words that can describe just how happy I am with Laura’s work and how awesome my new tattoo is... I found out about this place through a friend who has gone to Jacob for multiple tattoos. I went in and met him during one of my friends sessions and he greeted me with a nice smile and was very kind. When I saw his work on my friend, I got pretty excited and got eager to get an appointment set because you could clearly see his talent. The tattoo he did on me blew my mind. I got a black widow spider on my back, and people actually thought it was a real spider in the picture I took. He did a phinomenal job! Very talented man, very nice, very genuine!

My girlfriend and I have both gotten work done from Jacob, and I can honestly say that we both are very pleased. His shop was on the high end of cleanliness as well as a comfortable environment. He was well mannered and a very Respectful person and a very Sociable person as well. He tended to your needs and made sure you were comfortable before he got started on doing his work. In all I have nothing bad to say about my experience and will be referring him to my friends, family, and colleagues. 5 Stars for me!

describe your experience okay I walk up to the shop the door was locked I can see people inside. the owner comes out asked me what do I want. I said tattoos. he says we only do appointments. on his shop Windows says nothing about appointments on all of his literature says nothing about appointments then explains and I quote he doesnt do the general public walk-in and he denies most people for service. might be a good artist but a horrible liar and a very bad business man

Amazing artist. I met him through a friend and followed his art for over a year. He is extraordinarily talented. His linework is impeccable and his color is perfectly saturated. I went in for my consultation and told him he had free reign to do whatever he wanted on my calf. I received a stunning piece of original artwork. I get compliments every time someone sees it and I still have one more session to go. I recommend him to everyone who sees my tattoo.
