Extremely unprofessional and poorly ran establishment. I was charged double the MSRP (I paid 280$ they retail on manufacturers website for 140$) for a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses I had purchased there after being diagnosed with glaucoma. I got diagnosed with glaucoma and I thought it highly abnormal being as I am only 25 years old. I ran some tests at their Anoka Shop Marsh Optical 3 times because their equipment was malfunctioning. I feel bad for their 1 in store employee relaying me (the patient) text messages from the optometrist about my Glaucoma and what treatment or medications I should start on. I thought this to be extremely unprofessional and shady so I took the liberty of scheduling an eye exam at a more prominent eye doctor. I scheduled an appointment at North Suburban Specialists because they specialize in Glaucoma. After taking the same exact tests as I did at Select Eye Care I met with an optometrist at North Suburban and within 5 minutes the Dr. was able to confidently tell me that I "DEFINITELY" dont have glaucoma. To say the least I was very relieved. I realize that I should have price check the sunglasses before purchasing them but I normally try to support my local small businesses before I buy something off of the internet but in this case I got screwed on all fronts. I hope this review is helpful to any potential or current customers of this business. I just cant express how disappointed I was with the service and I normally dont take the time to write reviews but I felt this was necessary so this doesnt happen to anyone else!

As upset as I am right now with this business, I will be willing to give it a 1 Star. We have been a patient at Select Eyecare for 4 years. We are now experiencing issues trying to obtain a prescription. We wanted to buy glasses somewhere more affordable for us. I have called 4 times, and came in 1 time to try to get the prescription. My sons glasses are broken and I went into the shop to try to get a prescription, but he was able to fix the glasses. The glasses broke again and I mentioned I will be ordering some new glasses online this time and the man that works there said, "Good luck." He tried to tell me they sell glasses for 69.99 and asked if i could find cheaper any where else. I told him I could and he repeatedly says good luck. I have asked him to email the prescription 2xs already and nothing. We liked select eyecare because it was a local business and seemed family friendly. It is now very sad and an unprofessional business. He also has hung up on an employee at another Optical while they were trying to get my MILs prescription. I have decided to just go get another eye exam again somewhere else even though we are not due for one. One good thing is the Optometrist there did find my husbands keratocones, and Im still not sure why other eye doctors havent mentioned it, but we were able to take care of that thankfully. This is the first review I have written and I have not ever been this disappointed at an optical business.

Been seen here for almost 20 years. Was recommended by a coworker. Remember my 1st experience vividly. I really wanted frameless glasses. I eagerly picked them up. Found out after several attempts to make them work that my eyes would not adjust to them....it was not due to the lenses or anything......Ive had the same issue before with other frames from other places. Unlike those other places, Dave was very apologetic and let me pick out new frames and lenses and no extra cost to me! Can you say I was shocked? Ive seen several different Docs there. They were the first ones to catch my large optic nerve and send me to a specialist. The specialist said I was borderline glaucoma and probably had been for a year or two with how my pressures were and how everything looked. Both Docs were surprised this hadnt been caught before by the other place I had been going to (Ive had yearly checkups since I was in the 3rd grade). Ive been on the borderline for glaucoma for many years now and am happy it hasnt gone over. The only time Dave doesnt take extra time with me is when he is very busy.....several people to help in the store and phone ringing. Since I work the dental field, I know how it feels. He has never snapped at me or treated by rudely. Give it more stars if I could.

Paid for an prescription - they knew that we would be shopping around for contacts & glasses. Guy at the counter pulled a fast one, waited for me to walk away before telling the girlfriend that the store would be keeping the prescription & she wouldnt be taking her prescription home. Then he drops that the $90 didnt include the contact lenses prescription - just the glasses. Its been 2 months, shes called once a month trying to get the prescription mailed to her. She was so ashamed I paid & she got nothing that she didnt tell me till now. We will be stopping by their shop to pickup by hand the prescription I paid for - since apparently they hung up before she could offer to buy the contact lenses prescription.

Jerkoff - I called to schedule an appointment as a new patient.... and the guy answered like "Hello...." I quickly replied with, "Hi, is this select eye care?" he then replies with "Yes..... is that all you needed or is there something else you want to know" I gave him the benefit of the doubt and as he asked to place me on hold I agreed.... I was on hold for close to 10 minutes, and when the man returned to the phone, he picked up the line with "What you want" ...... cant even begin to describe how unprofessional this is.... his first impression on me was a bad one.... .... needless to say I will not be pursuing being a new patient of theirs.....

I tried this place out on a whim because they were so close to my home. The reviews for this business matched the service and quality I received. I literally went into the store, gave them my prescription, and had glasses picked out within 30-40 minutes. Within a few hours, I had my new glasses on my face. I bought only what I wanted. I wasnt pushed into any unwanted purchases. The owner was knowledgeable about his products and was very friendly. As my 3 year old son and I were leaving, he offered both of us a dounut from his other business next door. Both my son and I left very happy.

Awesome amazing service. Ive been to a number of different eye places over the years and Select Eye is by far the best. Dave was very attentive and helpful. My 13 year old and I both needed glasses, my sons first pair. Dave took the time to personally help him out and try on a number of pairs until he was happy. Great selection of frames for everyone, even my youngest had fun trying on the kids frames.

If I could give them zero stars I would. Worst experience of my life, nothing but rude, waited an hour for a fax, still hasnt faxed my prescription, and then had the nerve to yell at me! Will never go back or purchase anything from them EVER!
