This place is ridiculous. My wife and I, with our 7 month old went to do some holiday shopping here. It was our first time here, and our last for sure. We found a nice shirt, $50, at least we assumed as it was on a rack with similar shirts all tagged. (The one we wanted had no tag, nor did the other two) the only difference between the two on the rack was camo pattern was on the outside of the sleeve vs the inside of the sleeve. Everything else was identical. We grabbed one with a tag, the opposite color scheme, and brought it up with us. It was on sale for $40, so we were thinking the one we wanted would be the same. When we got to the register, no line, I went outside to get the car and warm it up. I waited for fifteen minutes and decided to go in and find out what was happening. My wife was not at the register any longer. She was back in the section, baby in tow, shirt in hand, showing the employee where she got the shirt. The girl at the register didnt know how,to handle, the situation, called for help. The gentleman that responded was the one currently having my wife help him. He said they must be new, thats why they didnt have tags. (What?) he then said it must be for Black Friday (again what?) my wife finally talked him into letting her buy it as if it were the other one which he said was fine, but not at the sale price. (Are you kidding me, its the same shirt!) she tried to explain this to him, and he said fine, sighed, and said just tell the girl at the register. Now this is an easy resolution, and could have been solved in 30 seconds by using common sense or with a manager. The manager was too busy though, as during the whole charade at the register he came up, bought to mountain Dews and acknowledged nothing. Read the other reviews people, there is a pattern of poor service.

Excellent service!! I work close by and find myself here often to kill time and also pickup a few things. Any time I have been in this place I have never had less than 3 employees either greet me or ask if I needed any help throughout my visit. This past week I had ventured in a couple times as I checked out their crossbows. On 9/29/15 I wound up purchasing a Wicked Ridge Crossbow which was on sale. The pricing was great, even compared to online pricing (was less than Amazon!). The service was even better. Scott W. in the archery department was a great help. As a first time crossbow owner I had some questions and he spent plenty of time with me to go over the features, safety and overall operation of the bow. I also shot it a handful of times and dialed in my first distance setting. I would not hesitate to make another purchase like this from this store. I think some folks seriously overstate their pricing concerns in previous reviews. I dont think F&S pricing is any higher than your standard big box outdoors stores. Maybe some of you are comparing this place to dumps like Dunhams or online pricing which is not an on par review. I have found some great deals in this place, especially on sale or clearance items. I also dont mind paying a little bit more for exceptional service which you cannot find at Gander, Dunhams or even some of the local gun/archery shops were egos fly abound!

I love this location as a whole however rate very low as others have commented on the firearm department here it is beyond terrible. Ive revisited firearms here 3 times at different days of week and times and gotten same bad experience. Rude workers who are slow and uninterested in your money. Last time I was there Sunday late in the day with hardly anyone in store there were only 3 people shopping the department and two store workers behind counter. All I wanted was to inquire if they carried goex powder. I stood at the counter 45 minutes no one but the first person at counter was serviced this whole time. The conversation with this person treated them as ignorant when they were sampling over $1400 in firearms these are big sales and I expect big service standards. In the meanwhile no one asked if they could help me told me they would be right with me or even looked in my direction. Youll get better service at a gas station than their firearms department. Go to gander mountain instead much more helpful. I recommend to management to fire your entire firearms crew and start over the rest of your store is well serviced. I will also be writing corporate to complain.

ANY WOMEN IN NEED OF A GUN GO SOMEPLACE ELSE!!! If you get served at all it will be rude service!! I see from earlier reviews that Field and Stream dont read or care what these reviews say because the gun department at the Troy, MI store still sucks!!! While there after taking a number like I was suppose with 3 other customers and atleast 4 guys who looked like they worked there or they were atleast allowed to walk behind the gun counter but not help any of us. I was there with cash in my pocket to buy a SIG P238 for my wife if only I could see one. After about half hour my wife came over and they finally helped the first person but when we got help not only were they not friendly they ignored my wife and her questions. Since this is no way to treat my wife or any woman for that matter we left with our cash in hand and bought the gun from Gander Mountain for $10 more but got great service there for my wifeand myself. We will never return to that store again because good customer service is worth paying more for.

Got a GREAT deal on a Citori Crossover Target Over/Under shotgun here. It was on sale for $1599, plus I got the points, and Browning paid the tax back with a rebate. Everywhere else this gun was about $1800-$1900. The store probably had growing pains in the beginning but my associates were very knowledgeable. The young woman behind the gun counter was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. The young man Ive done business with for a few years previously at a Dunhams near my house, so I know he is knowledgeable and helpful. Great, clean store. Prices are a bit high on stuff that is not on sale, but its hit and miss. Some prices are quite good! Unlike Pro Bass where EVERYTHING is way too expensive. The only downside for me is only one location quite far from my house, so the points are hard to take advantage of. I have to plan my trips wisely and hit REI on Big Beaver while Im in that area too, to make it worth the drive, or if theres a ragin sale on something its worth the trip.

The store is newly built and it looks clean and organized. Thats why it earned 2 stars. Otherwise, it would have been 1 star. Went in looking for a Walther PPQ. None of the associates acknowledged my existence. I asked two of them for help and they directed me to some other guy in the same area. They stood around, while he helped some other guy. He didnt acknowledge me, no greeting, nothing. Im not one to pull the "race card," but being in there made me feel uncomfortable and my business unappreciated. Maybe because Im young or because of my ethnicity they didnt take me seriously? Either way, took my business elsewhere. You can get firearms cheaper at the local gunshops and online anyway. My overall is 2 stars. I would not recommend this store to a friend. The customer service and prices suck. I feel comfort knowing the store is huge, location is bad, they have a bunch of useless employees, and it costs a lot to run the store on a daily basis. Theyll go out of business soon, hopefully.
