As you can see by the 5 star rating this dealership is supposedly fantastic. I, until recently, would agree with this. Weve taken our Focus to get warranty work done a few times. They are always friendly and helpful. When we took our car in in March they told me it was the wrong day but accommodated me anyway and worked it out. It was a scheduling error on their part and they admitted it. I always need a rental car when we go there so they set it up with Enterprise ahead of time for us. Well, Enterprise says we need to add insurance to the car unless we want to pay our insurance deductible ($500) if anything were to happen to the car. We always pay for it because we do a lot of driving. Its $20 a day, which I think is stupid, but weve paid. Well, the last time they fixed the car the part they order was defective so they ended up with the car for over a week. I explained that I couldnt afford to pay the $20/day for the rental car I had. They said I shouldnt EVER have to pay for the rental car if its warranty work that they would take care of it...and they did...I didnt pay a dime for it. Fast forward to today. We have an appointment for our car at 7:30 a.m. We called to verify this on Monday (appointment is on Wednesday) due to the scheduling problem before. Husband gets there at 7:30 (we live over an hour away) only to find out that no, our appointment is really for FRIDAY. He explains that we called to verify and it was supposed to be today. He also explains that it would be a waste to have to come back on Friday because of the distance we drive to get there. They say they will "try" to get it in, but probably not until Friday. We need a rental. They dont have one. They tell husband if he waits (2 hours) they should be getting one in. He waits....patiently. He explains to Enterprise that he shouldnt have to pay the $20 insurance fee because of the situation. They disagree and say its their policy that if we want the insurance we MUST pay. Well, we will have to at least spend $60 (or more) because they will have the car until Friday (at minimum). Fox Ford covered the insurance for us last time but wont have anything to do with it this time. All we were wanting is for the insurance to be covered and they wont. "its our policy" is all thats being said. No bending. Nothing. Crappy customer service on their part if you ask me! Its not like we are asking for a million dollars!!! Why should we have to pay anything for a vehicle if its under warranty?? Ive tried to resolve this with Fox Ford and/or Enterprise only to keep hearing "Its our policy". Funny, it wasnt a problem 6 months ago.....

Fox Ford Put My Life in Danger! I was told the rear drum brakes were long overdue and they were locked up. Upon receiving the truck back after being told it only needed new drums, pads and rear hardware, it still didnt seem to be quite right. However, I was assured after bringing it back again that things were fine, and the play in the brake pedal was fine; I was told even the mechanic working on my truck owns a similar one and thats how it is supposed to be. I took his word and drove the truck in that state for the duration of the summer in my trips between MI and NY. Upon my return to Traverse City this autumn, the brakes began to make noises I went to another shop to have them checked out. They checked the rear brakes and found loose parts inside the drum, and that the rear brakes arent quite right, hence the rapid wear of the front brakes. I told them to leave the back untouched against their recommendation as I wanted to see how Fox Ford would handle this, and upon my arrival I was assured that everything would be covered as it seemed impossible to wear through a set of drum brakes in less than a year. Fox Ford replaced the rear brakes again, and it still seemed off. At this point, I returned to shop #2 where they found that the rear brakes were replaced, but were not connected. Meaning that for the period of time between the two visits, approximately a week, I was driving a car without rear brakes, and Fox Ford put my life in danger. This is completely unacceptable, and for that reason I will likely never frequent Fox Motors again. I dont understand how it can be forgotten to hook up the brakes, and how the vehicle wasnt test drove to confirm this prior to me reviving my truck back from the dealership. DO NOT TRUST THEIR WORK!

Bought a newer used car from here and the salesman was it a huge hurry because he needed to get home because his house was in the process of selling so when we asked if we could look at more cars in the same price range just to make sure we were getting the best vehicle for us he said no I already got the car you called on all ready to go this is a great car for the price and was no about to let us see any other cars so we ended up buying the car and we had purchased the warranty and it was supposed to have been there best warranty. Well because we bought a chrysler and its a Ford dealership the warranty is through ford so a chrysler dealership dont honor the warranty and when we went back to traverse to get the car looked at they said they couldnt work on it because there mechanics dont know how to fix chrysler and they dont have proper equipment, so basically we are paying for a warranty and are not able to use it??? Yea doesnt sound like a good deal to me. And the funny thing is some of the issues the car has was issues we bought it with so apparently if they dont work on chrysler how can they give a proper estimate on an overall price for the car and say that its a nice car in greal condition if they never looked it over??? Not happy with our purchase or the customer service so far.( update) had this vehicle for 5 months and have to get the heater core replaced and going to cost 750 dollars didnt know about this problems at the beginning because it was only when blowing heat that we noticed it and it was summer time when we purchased. And that isnt including the wheel bearing that needs to be fixed. Soooooo beyond unhappy right now.

Absolutely terrible customer service by the sales department. My husband and I went here to look at and test drive a potential car. The salesman, an older guy named Steve, was absolutely terrible and rude! He said, "Not to be rude, but I make my living through commission, so I dont have a lot of time to spend with you." After that, we did test drive the car, which was super awkward with him in the back seat. He definitely shorted our test drive and would only allow us to go around the block because of "company policy," even though we went to the Fox Ford in Cadillac the day before and they let us drive anywhere we wanted (we had an amazing experience at the dealership in Cadillac, we just had to go to TC because they were out of the car we wanted to see). I could not believe a comment like that would come out of the mouth of someone in sales, as my husband and myself are also in sales/customer service. I do not have any other experience with this dealership, but we will never purchase a vehicle from this dealership, and I would definitely NOT recommend working with Steve because he probably "wont have a lot of time!"
