My wife and I have purchased numerous sets of tires (summer/winter/racing) online from Discount Tire (DT) and other sources since 2005. We always had the tires mounted/balanced at local TD stores for the online advertised price of $20/tire. By the way, there is no conditional language in the advertisment like "must purchase tires from DT" or similar. So I took my new tires to the Novi, MI / Grand River DT for mounting and when Mike at the store found out I bought the tires from his competitor (Im glad I did now), the price went from $20/tire to like $31 tire. I was also priveledged to a lecture as to how I could have saved money by buying from them (they dont even carry the tire brand I wanted and bought) and now it would cost me more. When I inquired as to the advertised price and my previoius $20/tire costs (only 6 months earlier), I was told "not when you purchase from someone else." So I called other local DTs the same day and they quoted the $20 / tire price. I took my tires to another DT and sure enough, just as with my other tire work in the past, I paid $20 per tire mounted/balanced and, no lecture. Sorry I hurt poor Mikes feelings for not buying tires from him (that DT does not even carry) but, thats still no excuse to apparently make up prices and act so unprofessionally. Makes you wonder about their other work quality and costs? I more disppointed than mad over this experience given the great service Ive received at other local Discount Tire stores. I obvioiusly do not recommend the Novi store when a more professional DT is only a few mile away. May 2009

Had a flat tire @ work. So @ midnight, in the rain I had to put on that crummy donut spare and the crappy stamped steel lug wrench stripped one of the nuts. Almost couldnt remove the flat. So next morning, needing the puncture plugged. I took it in. With the upcoming holiday weekend the wait to have it fixed and mounted was going to be a looong one. However, I needed this done for work by 2:00, so I left the tire to be plugged only, and was given a 40-50 min window. 1:50 min later it was finished. I was prepared to be upset & cranky, but when I asked "how much?" I was told "it was on them!" Puncture fixed, new tpm valve stem and wheel balanced!! NO CHARGE??? That type of customer service will have me returning for sure, wait or no wait! I dont expect freebies,.. but I certainly do appreciate them when I get them. They took 98% of the sting and frustration over this away with that one gesture. Way to make happy customers out of grumpy ones!! Thumbs up guys!!

Really unfriendly staff including the store manager. One of the worst Discount tire locations I have seen over the years. They are located in a prime location in Novi, but pretty poor management of the store. The location looked understaffed and staff were highly disrespectful with their customers. I thought I would complain to the store manager, but then I witnessed him arguing with another customer over some pricing. I got out from there and promised never to return to this location again. This location is nearest to my house but now I drive down further to the New Hudson store. The New hudson location has much more friendlier staff and is cleaner and spacious. Plus the wait times are a lot better.

Took over an hour to replace one tire. Went to have one of the 4 tires I purchased from here as it was causeing my car to pull left. After waiting 10 min to talk to somone they asked me a lot of questions with a poor attaude basicly acting like I was lieing about purchasing tires from here. Finally they agreed to replace the front left tire. After another 45min they finally pull the car in after helping two others that came in after me (I asked if they had appontments which they werent they were walk ins). I always hear how good the service here is only to be greatly disapointed. Wish I got the tires from somewere else. Arrived at 2:52 left at 4:21 Dec 23 2010

They dont take care of their lot. Metal shrapnel everywhere. Good for profit though. They claim all of their technicans are one of their best. They damaged 2 of my wheels because they didnt take simple precautions that could have prevented the chips. Not sure why they were in such a hurry, I was the only customer there. These guys dont appreciate repeat business. Bought 3 different sets of tires here in the last year but I wont be buying anything from this location again. When I confronted the Manager about my concerns about the shrapnel in the lot he just blew me off. Bottom line, take your car somewhere else.

I was very displeased with the "customer service" at this location. I walk in for service and it was not a very welcoming experience. Since I have been a Customer Service Manager, Retail Sales Manager and Lead, I am well aware that leading with negative comments about how long the wait time is versus seeing what my needs were and giving me the choice rather or not I want to be serviced is not very professional or customer friendly. Secondly, what Manager lets money walk out the door??!!! Yes!!! It was a manager/asst. manager that I was dealing with! TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!! Trust me...

The value (i.e., quality versus cost) of their tires is great. The promptness of service is great -- going there with an appointment is better than without, but even without isnt bad. Their friendly, knowledgeable staff are a joy to work with. Their willingness to provide prompt repairs if you keep your tire certificates is great. And their electronic record-keeping is helpful and reliable. Ive been buying from Discount Tire for over 15 years, will continue doing so, and will recommend to friends & family. I cant suggest any ways for them to improve, hence my highest rating.

Make an appointment if u can. This store got me in and out in less than an hour. This occurred during an extremely busy time of the year, just before the first snow of the season. They installed 4 new tires with a very competitive price. In that hour, I sat in the lobby and watched each customer come through and be treated with nothing but friendly and courteous service even though some of the customers were impatient. This was my first time getting service at this location and I would most certainly go back.

I was a walk in, no appointment. Showed up and spoke with Jeff. I had a very low psi on my rear left tire, and it would not take any air when I tried to fill it up. They inspected the tire and found a piece of bone stuck inside. They were able to repair the tire, test the tire on their simulator, and double check the remaining tires all under an hour with multiple other customers in the store as well. Great customer service, and my bill was $0.00. I will be going back to this location for my future tire needs.

Had an appointment for 10:30 AM. Their power was off all morning until 10:10 and they were backed up with customers but still honored my appointment (bigger deal than it sounds like). The manager, Jeff, is awesome and helped me out for my visit. Very helpful, polite, knowledgeable staff with a very apparent customer-focus. Great holiday rebate deals, practically got my new wheels free with the set of tires. I will be returning for further business with these professionals.
