Im very surprised as to all the negativity about this store. Every time we have set up a grooming appointment for our dog, Sophie (part teacup poodle), my mother and me have always been satisfied with the end results. We also get her some routine medical treatment here for excreting waste. The store wasnt in its cleanest of conditions when I walked in one day to pick up some dog food with my mother. There was animal fur at the front entrance, and some parts of the store have seen better days (i.e., registers). During our visit, however, I did see one employee cleaning out the cat adoption area, so its nice to see that cleanliness is one of their top priorities. At the time of check-out, we were assisted by a nice lady who took a brief call from someone asking about pet odor cleaning products. It looked as if though she was a little confused as to what the caller was asking for. But, she did apologize to us for the interrupting call, and she complimented our dog as well. So far, we will keep doing business with this PetSmart store.

Cat and fish reviews- I cant comment about what goes on with the dog grooming. I can however, comment on the cat and fish section! As for the fish, the people are very knowledgeable, and they take good care of the fish. For the cat adoption center, they are fantastic! Theyre volunteers from a shelter who bring cats to the store to get adopted out. They take care of keeping the cats up to date on immunization first off. You have to apply for a cat and they actually check out your application! They have volunteers come to the store twice daily to clean the cages and let the cats run wild in the area! I adopted 2 of the cats there and I am so grateful to these people for doing this! They have cats of all ages. I got the 2 oldest ones at the time. I still go there often just to give all the cats there a little bit of love and affection. Good bless these people for saving these cats, and the store for allowing shelter cats a chance to find their homes!

Feel bad for those who have had a bad experience. We have brought our two small dogs to PS for the last 5 years for groooming. The groomers are very friendly and although the dogs dont like getting wet, they happily follow the groomers in the back to get washed. One of our dogs is very touchy about being touched (rescue dog) but he settled in after the first visit quite nicely. Id agree that sometimes it take a bit longer than expected but stuff happens and we all adjust. Trimming their toe-nails has never been easy where ever we have gone. Occassional nicks happen usually due to the dog objecting to having their feet held up. We have been very happy with their service - the only conflict is between myself and my wife and our individual definition of getting them cut "short". The groomer adapts to whomever drops the dogs off. :-)

We . Both times I picked him up I got lectured on not neutering him and him having mats. I am a nice person and explained to them that he had spent a lot a time outside and got mats. I tried to get them out but I gave up and bright him in. I know theyre bad, thats why I brought him in! The lady held him behind the gate and would not let me have him until she was finished lecturing my husband and I. His shave was a crappy job. He has long spots all up and down his legs. Also I dont know what she did to his ears but my very friendly non viscous dog now cries and snaps if you touch his ears. And the neutering thing! I was with my kids and she told them all that he was going to get cancer because he has balls!! My poor kids freaked out in the car. Im pissed at her. So unprofessional.

I took my Jack Russel to this location for a flea bath (despite the bad reviews) and ended up purchasing the preventative as well. The woman at the counter stated that the bath would kill any fleas already on him, and the preventative would work for about a month. Long story short: As soon as I returned home that day, I gave him a quick once over for the fleas, and they were still there. I immediately called the store back to inquire as to why my dog still had them. I was basically told that its my fault, and that they werent going to do anything about it... So its my fault that they didnt do their job properly, and Im out of $40. Awesome. I will never return to this store, and advise everyone to stay clear of their grooming department.

The past 3 months Ive gone to this location to simply purchase a bag of dog food. Both occasions Ive walked out of the store with nothing. There will be only one cashier during peak hours, ( guess if they are competant at their job ) roughly six employees walking about the store in pairs hanging out with each other, and a full house of groomers. The check out line is constantly 10 shoppers deep and wrapped around the corner of the dog treat display. Both occasions now Ive gone to a small mom and pop store and pay almost $8.00 more and its worth it. Youre shoppers time is valuable. Get it together

New to the plymouth, canton area needed somewhere new to take my shihtzu. It wasnt the best experience. It was only suppose to take a few hours, so while i was shopping i dropped her off. I told them 1in long all over. My dog was not matted, i know what they look like. When i went to pick her up, 2 hours later, my dog was completely shaved down like bald. Oh i didnt even know what to say, their excuse of matts was bad but the razor burn on the butt, has been a nightmare. I will not be going back, will continue to look other places

Samantha is the best groomer and probably the nicest person Ive encountered there. But, whoever does the scheduling cant seem to get things straight. They keep calling my dog the wrong name when weve been there numerous times. I feel like the groomers are over booked, and I did not like the man that dragged my little 9lb dog across the floor. My previous experiences here were great, but this last time has made me question if Ill be taking my dog back.

A few months ago The grooming department injured my small chi & ripped out his claw and blamed it on his movement, smh!! Now I return for compensation & the same lady tries to charge me & just give me a random discount, wtf?!! Had to resolve with manager. I think that the grooming staff is probly far from pet friendly when left alone with your pup. Jus a heads up to those considering grooming services.. Petsmart Northville->NO!!

Warning to all the dog owners who are considering to groom your dog here at PetSmart. Absolutely awful! My husband and I were not SMART to have kept going four times even though we did not like what they did. They did not listen to our request as to how to groom. But this is it when we found that there are several cuts on my dogs belly area and legs. They shaved too close. We will NEVER go back there again.
