I am currently having two tattoos removed by Monica, one on my neck and another on my back. The tattoo on my neck was a green shamrock with a black outline and my back was a “tramp stamp” of bright flowers and leaves. My tattoos got noticeable lighter with each treatment and in many places are already gone. I have heard horror stories that the treatments are agonizingly painful and that walking out with huge blisters is “normal,” this should not happen and does not happen here. I leave feeling and the treated areas feel warm and within 24 hours I usually have small blisters. Within a week the area looks completely healed and over the next 3 weeks the tattoo continues to fade like magic. Besides being extremely reasonable in pricing, she is very knowledgeable and honest. Monica won’t promise you that a set number of treatments will remove your tattoo because every tattoo is different. The treatment room is super clean and everyone is the shop is extremely friendly.

I did laser tattoo removal and a cover up with Local Tattoo and could not be happier with the product and service. Monica was extremely knowledgeable and well-trained in the laser process and because of this I was able to avoid unnecessary discomfort commonly thought to accompany laser treatments. My tattoo faded and healed extremely well, and was almost invisible by the time I went in to get my cover up work done. I came up with an original concept for Greg to work with on my cover up, and I could tell he enjoyed working on the piece. He made sure to consult with me every step of the way to make sure we were on the same page about the design, size, colors, etc. As someone with very little experience under the needle, he also didnt pressure me to finish more of it during any session than I felt I could handle. My tattoo turned out perfectly and I could not be happier. I would recommend Local Tattoo to everyone.

I have been working with monica on a complete area removal and lightening another tattoo for cover up. She is very knowledgeable of the laser process but more impotantly very honest about the typical time frame and results to be expected with different colors and quality of artists work. You can expect a snap pop everytime the laser connects against ink. It feels like being snapped repeatadly with a small rubberband. Typically the area heals in around 6 to 8 weeks. Monicas pricing is also very reasonable especially if you have looked at other michigan area removals. She also charges by visit, so this ends up being much easier on the wallet. If your thinking about laser you should definitely check out monica for a consultation.

I have worked with Jay on a few occasions. He has done two custom pieces for me and I absolutely love them. He was able to create something beautiful out of a couple of random thoughts in my non-artistic head. He truly captures your personality in his artwork. I have referred a few others to Jay and he has yet to disappoint. Finally, I dont know how they do it but the technique used at Local Tattoo and Laser is way less painful than I experienced elsewhere.

I think that Local Tattoo and lazer is a great place. Very thourough with their cleanliness and showing u step by step with what theyre Doing. I received my first tattoo on my daughters name on my wrist. Greg Drake was very patient and explained every move. He even looked at the needles before he put them in his tatt gun to make sure they were straight. I was very impressed and plan on goin there again when I have more money to use on a tattoo.

What an excellent experience! I love my tattoo. Jay listened carefully to what I wanted and made some very helpful suggestions and then drew an original piece and discussed the best placement. I got my 1st tattoo here by greg and he did an amazing job! It was on my ribs and tht was a very sensitive area but greg made it seem like time just flew by, they are a very clean place and the staff is great. I know ill be getting more tattoos in my future and will for sure be going back to local it a great place!

I have been going to 517 Local Tattoo for laser removal and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone seeking laser removal. Monica is absolutely fantastic and she does not give you any bullcrap about what to expect. She is very straightforward but conscientious during the procedure.

The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, the staff and artists are great people. The artwork is PHENOMENAL!! I have 6 pieces all together, 2 from Local artists. I will NEVER go anywhere again! I have never been soooo happy with my tattoos, or my experience getting them!!
