Most stuck up store owners Ive ever interacted with. Every experience in this place leaves me extremely disappointed. IF YOU BUY CRAFT BEER HERE, CHECK THE BOTTLE DATE!!! I found five year old pale ales in four packs for $20, albeit an expensive brand of craft beer, this shouldnt still be on the shelves at that price and that age - 6% beer is not for aging, especially not a pale ale. Ive tried engaging them in conversation about craft beer asking questions about their stock, but instead of actually talking to me, they either brush me off and move to the next customer or they get super rude about it . "We were the first store in Kentwood offering craft beer more than thirty years ago in the mid 90s..." - thats cool and all, but totally unrelated to my current visit to your store in 2017. Give your customers genuine interactions and maybe one star reviews like mine wouldnt happen. And check your stock! This is a terrible business if youre not aware of what you have on your shelves. If your regular clientele doesnt buy craft beer, maybe you should size that selection down, or at least carry less beer that could go bad easily, or, I dont know, maybe check your products for whats been sitting there for five years? I shouldnt have to do your stocking for you by checking bottling dates, if I had no clue what I was getting, bought that old skunky 4 pack for $20, and brought it home, Id be more than upset with the place that sold me beer that shouldve been gotten rid of a couple years prior.

The oldest review was true... back then. At one time, they deserved 5 stars hands down. They must have new owners now. We used to LOVE this place & frequented it at least every week. The young gal there was very knowledgeable, friendly, & helpful... always a smile on her face. Awesome selection of brews, nice scotches, brewing supplies, and even odd snacks & greeting cards. After we moved farther north, we would still make the drive just to come to B&B. After not having been there in a few months, we returned to find unfamiliar people working there & no more pleasant gal. The middle-aged woman was cold, rude, arrogant & made us feel like we were bothering her when we asked about a particular brewing supply we used to get there (which, by the way, they no longer carry). We thought maybe it was a one-time deal, but we tried 2 more times to shop there & have decided she must be the new owner, & its just not worth dealing with that kind of treatment from a place where you are giving them your business. Sad... because they still have a great selection, but the service is repelling. We will make the trek to Sicilianos from now on. I wonder how many other loyal customers like us (who have spent who-knows-how-much money there over the years) they have lost because of this.

A fine place if you want to walk in and grab a bottle of beer or liquor. But dont ask questions and check the dates on merchandise. I recently purchased a brewing kit and a few days after brewing it, I found that the yeast had expired 2 1/2 years earlier and so it was not fermenting. ( only the yeast sachet had a date on it ) I now wish I had read the earlier comments about the terrible service after a switch in owners. They offered to replace the yeast immediately but I did not want to complete the brew with potentially ancient ingredients. I asked for a refund instead. The clerk argued that this was not the case, the ingredients would be just fine. A short argument followed in which I felt they were very condescending and rude. After offering to prepare them a meal with 2 1/2 year expired canned goods for them to eat, they allowed me store credit. At check out, there were further condescending comments. While I agree they had some valid arguments ( its hard to justify a return on used goods ) they did not act in a professional manner. I will not be returning here. Two stars for eventually making good on the issue.

If you know what a Trappist Ale is and would like to contemplate which ones you would like to try, then this is the store for you. They also have a pretty decent wine selection, and even a collection of single barrels. In addition they have a nifty homebrew supply with everything from chemicals to kegs to carboys packed in a very small space. To top it all off, the young lady who works during the day mostly is extremely knowledgeable about all things alcohol, including brewing. Hands down my favorite "party store" in GR.

I called in to ask if something was in stock and then the phone was silent and I heard a click. I thought the call disconnected so I said "Hello?" in the most normal friendly voice.. I could hear the lady say in the background "I said just a moment! Which means just a moment!" She was SO rude! I work in customer service and this individual shouldnt! You have lost my business because of her. I called at 7:32pm on 12/21/2015 (tonight)

Great selection of beer, but the middle aged woman (she may be the owner) that works there can be extremely unpleasant. Very erratic moods, sometimes cheerful and sometimes downright nasty and irrationally rude. Its a shame, because their selection of Belgian beers is quite nice. However, I cant support a business that treats their customers like she does.

Ive been shopping here for many years and have never had a bad experience with the staff. A distributor did screw up my keg order once but B&B scrambled to make sure I had a replacement on time and free of charge. Customer service cant get better than that.

As Matt said the lady behind the counter is kind of mean. Doesnt help when the selection is great and you have liquor questions. She had what we wanted though. Would not return unless I had to.
