Your experience here could be hit or miss. For me it started out as a hit then went to a miss. Havent been back since. Ill try to make this brief since I could go on forever. They have a great selection of games and DVDs. Prices are okay. Customer service is where I think they lack. My first trip to disc traders was great. I bought Super Smash Bros Melee and the guy who helped me was super cool. Disc looked to be in good condition. At the time I was running tournaments for Super Smash Bros Melee so I had a Wii and three GameCubes. When I got home from disc traders I popped in the just-bought Melee disc into my personal GameCube. Disc read error. Messed around with it and couldnt get it to work. Tried it in my other Cube, still didnt work. I tried the disc in every GameCube and Wii I had and it didnt work. Closer inspection of the disc revealed a half-circle scratch on the top label. If you didnt know, scratches on the top label of a disc are bad because thats where the data is stored. No problem though, I had the receipt Id just return it. Next day I show up and the same guy is working the counter. I explained that the disc wasnt being read and showed him the scratch. He explained that they dont take returns of GameCube discs because they had a history of people buying good discs and switching out the discs for bad ones and returning them. But he was nice and said hed talk to his manager since he remembered me and I was pretty nice. So he takes my disc and goes into the back. Hes back there for like five minutes. Finally the manager walks out with the disc in hand walks right up to me and puts the disc in my face and says, "Show me where the scratch is on this disc?". Im surprised because his tone was angry. I explained my situation to the manager and showed him the half-circle scratch at the top. After squinting at the disc for a while he said he couldnt see the scratch and he wouldnt take the return. I pointed out the sign that said "We take all returns" they had up. He then said it didnt apply to GameCube games and then accused me of switching the disc I had bought with a bad one. At that point it was my word against his and I was pissed so I just told him to give me the game back and I wouldnt return it, which he smugly complied. The next tournament I had I brought the disc with me. I tried it on six more GameCubes and three Wiis they all had a disc read error. Finally, some kids Wii was able to read the disc. I ended up giving the disc to the kid because I was disgusted by the whole situation. TLDR Great selection, decent prices, jerk manager, hit-or-miss customer service.

Yesterday I bought a 360 controller that supposedly was supposed to "improve" my FPS experience. But when I tried it out it had a serious design flaw with the grips, they werent angular like a regular 360 controller and it made it painful to play. So, I tried to return it. They told me they only do exchanges for defective items. I explianed to them it was, a serious design flaw would be considered a defect. Whomever I talked to stood firm to his stupid belief that a design flaw that made the controller unplayable wasnt part of the realm considered "defective" and backed it up and told me that the woman whom helped me told me this. I dont remember her doing so, and even if she did it was after the purchase. I told him she didnt tell me this, then he resorted to the reciept. But...why refer me to something that I wouldnt know until after I made the purchase? After this short discussion I realized the guy I was talking to was a rigid idiot and I left. If they stand behind a policy that dumps defective products on the consumer, WHILE having a return policy unclearly communicated only after the purchase, Im not going to return. Fortunately it was a $20, controller, so I can swallow it. For those of you whom really got zinged here is some basic legal advice (from personal small claims litigous experience, not education as I dont have a law degree), if they dont communicate to you this important fact through obvious signage nor actually telling you before the purchase it is referred to as a "meeting of the minds" not occuring, all you have to do is file a small claims suit (which my amount does qualify for, but barely). For a purchase to legally be binding they have to communicate their rigid return policy as it affects the decision for purchase.

I have stood by this location for many years and I understand their policies; but when someone drives from Kalamazoo to visit your store specifically and you turn down their service because its 835 saying you dont accept trades after 830 is absolutely bull crap. I have sold to this disc traders at 850 before, and what makes this more infuriating is that there were 3 employees standing around doing nothing with no other customers in the store. I had a controller and 3 games to trade and you couldnt be bothered to process that in a matter of 20 minutes? I am severely disappointed and upset with this service and I will no longer be coming to this store.

I dont know why everyone says the people here are rude but when I went in to buy an xbox 360 the person at the counter was very friendly and offered plenty of advice on things like storage, prices, games you name it. The xbox 360 I bought was 250 GB one which looked brand new. It was however preowned though and works and still works with no problems at all. I even bought halo 4 for $4 and it was brand as well. I got everything at great prices, great condition with very helpful advice. Im going back today to buy some more games and sell a few. Its my new favorite game store. Way better than GameStop or best buy by far.

This place has a wide selection of video games, music, and movies on a wide array of formats. The prices are awesome and there is something for everyone. Definitely worth the drive if you arent in Battle Creek. I have never tried to trade or sell anything there so I cannot comment on that. They have tons of reasonably priced gaming accessories also. Also stuff for disc golf and probably some other things too that I may have not noticed because Im always focused on the huge selection of games. I never feel pressured or rushed there either which is good because there is a lot to see :)

Music selection was VERY POOR, just one small rack, and all their prices started at $3.99 and up! Employees were nice enough but slow. Store was clean. About 55% games, 35% movies, 10% music/collectibles/other. This is part of the Disk Replay chain, so they still use those stupid stickers all over the CD cases; at-least all but one came off easily this time. A suggestion to the owners: your store is only labeled as a “CD store” on Google maps, you should relabel it to a “video game store”; you would get more search hits and that is clearly your target market.

One of them demands personal address information before ringing up cash purchases. He claims that its for determining where to publish their flyers. I refused and he got rude about it. So I gave him false info. Maybe I would be willing to give if given a discount or some value for my information on a cash purchase. There are other places to buy movies at reasonable prices and I am rebuilding a "lost" 900+ movie collection over time. That is a considerable amount of lost business if I decide to dismiss shopping there. "NO means "NO".
