I just picked up the perfect birthday cake for my fiancé Bens birthday. Theresa outdid herself. She is indeed a very gifted artist. I had hoped to attach a picture. We met because he drives cab. I gave her a vague printout of a cab and detailed instructions on what i wanted changed and added. She did it perfectly. i have been seriously thinking i want a tattoo similar to this and may use a photo of the cake for tattoo inspiration. Coffee Times food is always yummy; too yummy for some people who would like to loose some poundage before they get married. But this is the most perfect piece of bakery craftsmanship i have ever seen. Thank You teri Love in a taxi Cab)

The best donuts! The honey dip is just a fantastic staple of the donut world. Larger than DD donuts, super fresh and fluffy. They also hold up pretty well for a day or two if you are taking some home and taste like they are made of better quality ingredients. This is definitely not a chain-type donut place and along with that, the prices are slightly higher. But, Id rather have a fresh, fantastic tasting donut thats a bit larger and pay a little more rather than a run of the mill pastry any day. Get there earlier if you want your pick of all the donut varieties, although youll occasionally find a few of the popular varieties lingering around a bit later in the day.

Super hit & miss! Ive been coming here since the 90s, & think its a local gem that I will always be glad to have. That said, buyer beware as only certain things are good here. The donuts & pie are OK, nothing special. The bagels (not their own) are excellent. The frozen drinks are excellent as are the cookies. Like the review below with the price disparity, there is a major quality disparity as well. I just stick to what I know, hence the four stars. The lose a star for being all over the place & for the times Ive tried something new that was disappointing.

The cakes, cookies and donuts are and have always been the best in Salem: fresh-tasting, sweet, attractive, and the prices are very reasonable. The carrot cake is delicious. My only complaint is the customer service--when we were there last night, the girl behind the counter ignored us until we were practically shouting for help, even though we were the only people there. A friendly "Hello" doesnt seem to be to much to ask for, especially at a wonderful neighborhood bakery.

This place is a gem of Salem. They have a wide variety of flavored coffees. I mostly stop in to grab breakfast. Their chive cream cheese is amazing. They have a wide variety of baked goods ready to order, but you can also use them to prepare a custom baked good if you order ahead of time.

Great pastry, cakes, coffee and cookies. Been going there for years. Our only complaint is the lack of training/supervision for some of the weekend staff. Twice recently we have thrown away breakfast sandwiches burnt to the point of being inedible. Too bad for an otherwise good bakery .

Their bagels are amazing. The staff is so very attentive, personable, and hard-working. I am privileged to live in the vicinity of this bakery. If I have one complaint it is that I am getting fat. :) Its the best bakery in Salem, perhaps in New England.

I grabbed a couple platters of desserts from this place and they were really good! Especially the bismarks, cannoli, and chocolate mousse. People really enjoyed them. Fresh cream made everything even better.
