A Russia, or, as the owners prefer it, European market. Most of the small supermarket conveniences, but theres no mistaking the ethnic base. Small selection of fish and meat, much of it frozen. Extensive selection of smoked fish, Baltic, Russian, Polish and German deli meats (hams, dry and smoked sausages, etc.), specialty dairy section, including many varieties of "fresh" soft cheese, kefir, sour cream, etc. Hot and cold self-service bar, also full of ethnic specialties. Pickle bar (pickled cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage, mushrooms, etc.) Huge fresh bread section. But the ethnic bakery needs work, both in product and service. Good but somewhat eclectic produce selection. Wine and beer, also largely reflective of the ethnic base. If you dont speak Russian, respond in English. Theyll figure it out. Non-ethnic specialty selection, like most ethnic stores, is closer to a convenience store than a supermarket. But if youre looking for some East European delicacies, or know which ones to substitute for the American products, this is the place to visit.

Was my store for many years, never again. I dont want to deal with mean people that they have now. Although I cant judge all the employees but that cheif cashier was the nastiest person I ever met. At 8:50 she came to me telling me that I have to go to a cashier because I have a lot of staff in my cart. Then again in a minute. There were two cashiers there so I came to the other one. I had many different kinds of candies in a bag all for $8.99 a pound. So I told the cashier all the candies are $8.99. Over sudden that nasty chief cashier jumped up crying out loud the candies were $9.99. After I told her several times that the candies are $8.99 and her register is the next one out she finnaly agreed and disappeared. WTF.

Like a hidden jewel. A treasure box filled with over-sea deliquesces, an array of fresh/hot dishes to suit anyones pallet. I was pleased to find a deli, bakery (some baked goods there) some imported from New York to be delightful to the eyes and the belly. A joy to walk through the store and see the many international meats...jellies...liqour...pastry...and then to top it off...the whole other side of the store full of fresh produce, grains...etc. There is always something to desire buying from this Baza which is translated to mean :busy market. It literally takes you to another place. A very unique shopping experience. A must-go. Bring the children, they will love it to.

This Thursday (08/03/2017) weve bought a mackerel ($5.75) at the seafood department of this store. Today we opened the package and the fish was completely rancid, smell was really awful! How this happened?! Unbelievable! :( Please stay away from that store, youre under a huge risk for your health if youre buying products at "Baza"! Ill definitely will call Massachusetts government offices to inspect this store immediately! There is no way to have that "quality" of food in US!

Inexpensive and somewhat exotic Eastern European products but with most normal (what youd expect in a supermarket) produce. Wonderful hot and cold elaborate salad bar with entries including fish, beef, chicken and pork with imazingly rich vegetable side dishes... The only problem is to watch for expired packaged food the stuff masquerades by putting English labels on top of expired manufacturing dates. Be aware!

Overall they have a nice selection of everything! Would have given four stars if people at the register were nicer, and said thank you after spending over $200 there. Also the trash with rust puddle near deli is awful. It has not been fixed for months! Finally, the employees behind cake stand are always understaffed, creating long lines. This store desperately needs better management.

It has a good selection of food, but if you want to work there for the summer or longer, you should look for a better place. Students who worked there in the past year have complained that they did not get any payment for the first 2 weeks of work, had to work long hours that were not perviously discussed and some (girls) were harrassed by the management.

Baza has great prices for vegies, a selection of Halavas and a great variety of sausages. There is also a buffet of take out of some traditional Russian foods an assortment of pickled vegies and a good bakery selection with many traditional Russian breads.

Great selection of Russian and some Middle-Eastern products, in addition to all standard produce/goods. I was looking for some pistachio halva for my grandmother and this place saved me! Service is on par with what youd expect for any supermarket.

Great place for Eastern European food. Products are fresh and relatively well labelled. Only negative some do not speak English, more rude cashiers than in any other store. Some places in the store are very narrow for two people to walk.

The store is full of so many interesting items. But mostly, the staff is wonderful. Especially nice are the ladies at the deli counter. They are very patient with my misprounciation of the names of the Russian cheeses and meats!

Russian produce. Like they used to make it, only better! Buffet is not bad, too. But stay away from the fresh meat which may not be so fresh. Otherwise good food from Eastern Europe and Brooklyn and some local too.

They have a very good selection of products from the former USSR countries, cold cuts, alcohol, whoever the customer service is poor and you need to be very careful with experation dates on the products.

Pay attention on products expiration date becouse stuff will not check it. Try to avoid buying not packed frozen food - saw how they put expired food from packages to sell as separate items.

Miserable employees who should be working an irs desk job and NOT in retail food service dealing face to face with humans. DO NOT give this business your hard earned money
