Great liquor store for craft beer and liquor in an excellent location in Cambridge, right next to the Porter Square T stop. The quality and selection of both beer and liquor(Ive never looked for wine there) is impressive for the smallish space. For example, they have an excellent selection of Lost Abbey beers, which are relatively hard to find in the Boston area. Additionally, when Ive been looking for nicer scotches and bourbons, theyve had Highland Park 18, Aberlour Abundh, Angels Envy Bourbon, and other good choices at prices that are sometimes better than the NH liquor store. Additionally, their service has always been very helpful and nice. And of course the location is really convenient for those who dont have a car or happen to be getting on the T in Porter.

Dont let the generic name Liquor World fool you, this little shop packs a lot of local craft beers into its limited shelves and fridge space. It also carries a huge selection of wine and liquors on its packed shelves. After work it can be a mad house, the narrow aisles make it hard to stand around browsing when a line curves around the corner. However, I have to applaud the staff for keeping the line moving swiftly and for keeping their small shop stocked with all matter of libations and liqueurs. Plus, they have quite a hearty selection of artisanal beers, belgian beers, canned craft beer in the back — which is nice if youre hopping on or off the T as its right up the street.

Every time I’ve gone in this place the staff seems more interested in standing near the back and talking to themselves. With customers waiting to check out they keep talking amongst themselves. Last night finally decided I would never ever buy from this place again. When I finally did get someone up to check me out at the register the girl told me she doesn’t check out people who are on cell phones and she walked away!!! Don’t know who owns this place but they need to revaluate the staff, big time! I drove down Somerville Ave 2 min and bought my stuff at Woody’s a much better store and defiantly better staff! GO Navy

Big mark-up. Good variety of liquor. I was surprised to learn from a friend that I paid $9 more on a Mexican tequila that should have been $19 (!). If you dont mind the mark-up, they *do* have a nice liquor selection (namely vodkas) and decent beer. Theres a large lot to park in and its near the (porter square) T. The renovations certainly improved the place -- wider isles, softer lighting, etc.

I dont know what happened with the people who wrote the previous two reviews, but Ive never had anything but great experiences with the staff at Liquor World. Theyre knowledgeable and friendly, and the store is always full of great beer finds, which they announce on their twitter feed (@liquorworld) -- highly recommended!

The best prices and one of the best selections of smaller liquor stores in Cambridge and Somerville. The staff is fantastic and Ive loved every one of their suggestions if I cant find the thing I came in for.

Not a huge beer selection, but friendly enough staff and reasonable prices. Convenient place to stop when needing liquor in the Porter Square area and not wanting to fight for street parking.
